Bill Conlin Wants Us Dead

If everything said here on Crashburn Alley is true, doesn’t Bill Conlin deserve the Imus treatment? It may not be truly racist, but it's horribly insensitive, and as much as anything else, it shows just how out of touch the old fart really is.

No need to be personally offended by the Conlin comment, though some of the stuff he writes is just plain bizarre.
As a journalist (yes, a real journalist who has written and edited at major newspapers and sports magazines for 30 years), I see where he's going with that -- though it apparently was lost on you (no malice intended). Many veteran journalists hate blogging because it gives any hack with a computer a public forum and often fools said blogger (and the public) into thinking they are honest-to-goodness journalists. This is dangerous, and it's also how misinformation gets perpetrated. ... I'm not putting you in the "hack" category because I don't know enough about your training, but unfortunately that's what a lot of bloggers are: dangerous hacks who aren't trained writers and reporters, who really don't know what they're doing.
