Ovechkin hit doesn't deserve suspension

The NHL is right with the decision not to suspend Alex Ovechkin for his knee to knee hit on Sergei Gonchar.

It looks like Gonchar is gone for the season unless the Penguins go to the Cup final and even then he may not be able to play. That being said, Ovechkin did not move his knee at all, and it was just an unfortunate injury to Pittsburgh's top defenseman.

There will be a lot of people who say that there is a double standard in the NHL for regular players and superstars, but if you look closely at the hit, you will see that Ovechkin did not alter his skate or leg one inch.
