Kronwall hit on Havlat
I have to disagree with the referees as to their call on Niklas Kronwall's hit on Martin Havlat. Kronwall caught Havlat with his head down at the 14 minute mark of the first period and apparently knocked him unconscious.
Kronwall was given a five minute major for interference and an automatic game misconduct. While technically Havlat never touched the puck, the puck was in his skates and Kronwall just nailed him with a great hit. Havlat was looking for the puck and had his head down, so he paid the price.
It is interesting to see the differences on both sides with the same hit. Detroit was livid that there was even a penalty called on a good hit, while the Blackhawks were aghast that Kronwall hit their star with such a dirty hit.
I have to agree with the Red Wings that it was a good hit. I hope that Havlat is able to return for the series, but if he has a concussion, it is unlikely that he will be able to come back in the Conference finals.
