The trade is a good one for the Penguins in that they get a scoring forward in Kunitz. The Penguins have been getting scoring from Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby this season and precious little else. Petr Sykora has 23 goals and Miroslav Satan, Jordan Staal and Ruslan Fedotenko are the only other Pens in double digits. Kunitz becomes a top-six forward with Pittsburgh and already has 16 goals and 35 points this season.

Tangradi was the Ducks second round selection, 42nd overall in the 2007 Entry Draft and gives the Penguins more depth in their depleted farm system. He is having an outstanding season with Belleville of the OHL as he has 38 goals and 87 points in 52 games thus far, second only to John Tavares in scoring. He is also 6'4" and 221, so he is looking like the big power forward that the Pens need.

The Ducks get the fifth overall pick in the 2002 Entry Draft in return. The blueliner is now 26 and headed into the best seasons of his career. Whitney has struggled this season as he returned from off-season foot surgery, but has had 40, 59 and 38 point seasons in his last three years.

The deal will make it a lot easier for Anaheim to trade one of their top two blueliners at the March 4 deadline and it wouldn't surprise anyone if both Scott Niedermayer and Chris Pronger were dealt.

Kris Letang gets a boost again in fantasy value with the trade of Whitney and it also boosts the value of Alex Goligoski for next season, if not this year.
