Interesting notes:

While it was no surprise that the team with the most selections was Detroit, it was somewhat surprising that Tampa Bay (30th and last overall last season) and Chicago, were among the four team tied for second with 13 picks.

It was also surprising that Edmonton was right behind them with 12. All three teams failed to make the playoffs last season, but obviously the experts think that will change this year.

Washington only had nine players taken but five of them were taken in the first seven rounds.

Calgary had three players selected in the first 22 picks (Iginla, Phaneuf and Kiprusoff), but only eight overall.

The Blackhawks had no one selected in the first three rounds, but four in the fourth.

Based on the draft, the Islanders, Maple Leafs and Panthers will have the weakest teams, while Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Dallas and Philadelphia will be the strongest.
