Stanely Cup In-Game Coverage (Game 6)

Second Period

Wings took temporary control of the game with Filppula's 5th goal of the playoffs, but the Penguins came storming back with a power-play marker from the re-born Malkin.

Wings outshot the Pens again 9-8.

Pittsburgh had 8 giveaways to Detroit's one.

Faceoffs were 27-17 in favor of the Motowners, with Draper sucessful 77% of the time.

Pens continue to lead in hits 26-22.

Detroit has done a nice job on Crosby holding him to one shot on goal.

Strap yourselves in. It is going to be an exciting third period as the Penguins will throw everything at the Wings while the partisan crowd cheers them on.

First Period

The Wings capitalize on a Darryl Sydor penalty to score on the power play to take the lead

Detroit outshot Pittsburgh 9-8 in the period and won 14 out of 24 faceoffs. Draper can't be stopped with 7 out of 9 faceoff wins

The Evgeni Malkin resurgence continues. The Pens' star starting to play better late in game five and set up the triple-overtime winner. Tonight he, along with Nicklas Lidstrom, leads all players with three shots on goal after one period.

Pens outhit the Wings 10-8 in the frame.

With his assist on Brian Rafalski's goal Henrik Zetterberg tied Sidney Crosby for the playoff scoring lead.

Stanley Cup Finals (In-Game Coverage-Game Five)

Second Period

A much better period for Detroit. The Wings outshot the Pens 12-7 and scored the period's only goal.

Sparkplug Darren Helm leads all players with six hits and scored Detroit's goal.

Zetterberg has a game-high four shots on goal.

The Malkin shot watch continues. No shots in another 5:57 of ice time.

The Wings are giving up their bodies as they have blocked 14 shots to the Pens' five.

It should be a great 3rd period.

First Period

Despite being outshot 8-7 the Penguins have a 2-0 lead on the strength of goals by Marian Hossa and Adam Hall (you read it right; Adam Hall)

Hossa lead all shooters with three shots on goal.

Draper continued his domination in the faceoff circle winning all four draws he took in the first period.

Wings outhit the Pens by a wide margin 12-4.

No shots for Malkin in 5:30 of ice time.
