The Luckiest Man in Hockey

If J.S. Giguere isn't the luckiest man in hockey, I don't know who is. With the return of Scott Niedermayer, the Ducks boast the league's top defense corps. Niedermayer, Chris Pronger and Mathieu Schneider are all number one defensemen. On most teams, Francois Beachemin would be a solid number-two blueliner. In Anaheim, he slots in as a number four. Add in two of Shane Hnidy, Sean O'Donnell, Kent Huskins and Joe DiPenta and you have the makings of one of the NHL's all-time top bluelines. All Giguere has to do is just not "screw up". In the two games since Niedermayer's return, the Ducks' netminder has allowed only one goal. Expect more of the same from here on in.
