Preliminary 2011 Re-Draft Ranks: WRs

"60 Minutes" is comfortably in Silva's top-ten receivers
These were last year's standard-league fantasy rankings for wide receivers: 1) Brandon Lloyd 2) Dwayne Bowe 3) Roddy White 4) Greg Jennings 5) Mike Wallace 6) Calvin Johnson 7) Reggie Wayne 8) Hakeem Nicks 9) Andre Johnson 10) Steve Johnson.
Receiver production is heavily, heavily dependent on targets. Save the ridiculously talented Mike "60 Minutes" Wallace, every wideout who finished in the top ten in fantasy points last year finished in the top 15 in passes thrown their way. It may seem obvious, but what we're shooting for in these rankings is wide receivers who not only dominate on the field, but dominate the attention of their quarterbacks.
The Wide Receivers
1. Calvin Johnson - The perfect storm of dominant talent in pass-heavy offense.
2. Andre Johnson - See Calvin, but Andre just a slightly worse bet for targets.
3. Larry Fitzgerald - Amid QB disaster, finished 5th in catches & 8th in yards.
4. Mike Wallace - Was the No. 5 fantasy receiver in his second NFL season.
5. Hakeem Nicks - Ranked No. 1 among wideouts in points per game last year.
6. Roddy White - Julio Jones takes a small bite out of yesteryear's top-3 finish.
7. DeSean Jackson - Rare big-play ability helps atone for modest target totals.
8. Miles Austin - Tony Romo's return will rejuvenate the Cowboys' top wideout.
9. Santonio Holmes - Targets project to skyrocket with Edwards likely exiting.
10. Brandon Marshall - 3-TD season was fluky; this is another target monster.
Left Out (concern in parentheses): Anquan Boldin (decline), Dwayne Bowe (schedule toughens, Weis exits), Kenny Britt (suspension), Dez Bryant (behind Austin, Witten), Austin Collie (concussions), Marques Colston (knee), Percy Harvin (rookie QB), Greg Jennings (Jermichael Finley), Vincent Jackson (competition for targets), Steve Johnson (more double teams), Brandon Lloyd (QB, offense), Sidney Rice (landing spot), Steve Smiths (landing spots), Reggie Wayne (decline), Wes Welker (better in PPR), Mike Williams South (unrepeatable rookie TD ratio).

Thoughts:
Miles seems like the guy to get hyped up, year in, year out. In dont know if he'll live up to his billing. He could have just as big a knock on him as any WR listed here-- will he really get enought attention will all those explosive players in that offense.
Also assume u believe Vincent Jackson will have to deal with sharing with S.Smith's aquisition. Im not so sure about that happening, but if so, yes i could see that as a bit of a drop off in numbers. not that much however.
And Holmes suprises me. I could be wrong but he disappointed for so long, i dont ever see him being a top 10 player. especially not in a extremely run first off with Sanchez at QB.
Wayne seems sure to be top 10 again, as usual, until his body slows down, which isnt yet imo.

No Greg Jennings but Holmes is listed even though he's a FA-What a joke.

I agree with Scott C. PPR rankings would be nice; I don't know anyone that plays standard format anymore.
Thanks for the rankings. Evn if you disagree with them, it's nice to debate until ( or even if) the season starts.
Ray Reynolds: create you own website, list your rankings, and we'll see how much you really know. Troll.
My only knock is the exclusion of Maclin, especially with guys like the Harvin and the Smiths included.

Yeah how can you leave out Maclin?

decent rankings. agree with most. i like not having jennings there, unlike some people who have him 3rd overal. did they forget he did nothing before finley got hurt?
idk about holmes though.
