There's always next year

During my last Rotoworld chat session, I got a few questions looking ahead to 2010. It’s ridiculously early to even think about drafts nine months away, but it is good fun. And after all, who doesn’t like some good fun.
So for the owners out of the playoffs already, here’s my top 10 for 2010. Standard scoring, no PPR.
1. Adrian Peterson - Brett Favre will almost certainly be back, setting up the same the same situation and production for “All Day.” Very little risk here, and he made a small jump with his pass-catching this season.
2. Chris Johnson - There have been some brief signs that the Titans are willing to give him so goal-line work. That would be very interesting.
3. Maurice Jones-Drew - Averaging almost 23 touches a game in his first year as the “man.” So far, so good in terms of durability.
4. Ray Rice - You’re going to have to pay next year to get the steal of this year’s draft. Averaging 127.5 total yards a game. The Ravens admit they want to get Willis McGahee more work, but they can’t bring themselves to take Rice off the field.
5. Steven Jackson - There’s a lot of question here because we don’t know if Marc Bulger will be back. S-Jax only has four touchdowns this year and he needs the passing game to improve, not regress.
6. Frank Gore - It remains to be seen exactly how the spread will affect Gore. But he’s a back that can fit in any system.
7. Larry Fitzgerald - Looking at his third straight year with at least 10 touchdowns. Keep an eye on Captain Kurt’s health.
8. Drew Brees - Not sure if I would actually pull the trigger on a quarterback in Round 1, but there’s virtually no risk here.
9. Michael Turner - In a non-PPR league, you can’t overlook Turner’s ability to score touchdowns. Even if you chalk up last year’s 16 as a fluke, he had 10 touchdowns in eight full games this year.
10. Andre Johnson - Played through a bruised lung this season. Need the leader of your team to have some heart.

Comments
I expect to see a lot of "AP or Chris Johnson at #1" conversations leading up to 2010 drafts. I think Johnson will break Faulk's YFS record this year, and there will be no reason to expect a serious downturn in his production next year, so I think it'll be CJ. Where is DeAngelo? I'll gladly take him in 2nd rounds next year. And what about Cedric Benson. Wonder if he cracks the first round.

in ppr, dont see too drastic a change between these.

Turner definitely falls out of top 10 in PPR leagues. Dude doesn't catch passes and I would rather have an elite WR like Megatron, Vincent Jackson or the soon to be 33 year-old Randy Moss.

That looks about right to me. And the tiers (from which you pick your favorite) are AP/Johnson/MJD, then Rice/S-Jax, then everyone else.
I'd at least take Fitz and AJ before I took a QB in standard leagues. And if Kurt Warner isn't back next year, it would be tough to take Fitz that high.
And to brag, I am in 3 leagues, and own Ray Rice in 3 leagues. I also own MJD in one, S-Jax in another, Drew Brees in the 3rd (in a QB-heavy scoring format).
It's possible with all the weakness at RB/WR, Peyton gets pushed back into many round 1's or early in round 2. Perhaps Rodgers, Brady, and Rivers will go with them in the top 2-3 rounds in many leagues. Perhaps not.
