Week 4 Committee Report with some Random Thoughts

This week’s committee report comes to you live from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, where Cole Hamels’ newborn is taking a lot of blame for the Phillies’ Game 2 NLDS loss. Welcome to the world, baby Hamels! You’re the most hated boy in the entire city!
Anyway, enough baseball talk. Some NFL committees are thinning out while others are beefing up. Fred Taylor going down will open some snaps up for Laurence Maroney, who’s sure to blow this opportunity. Brian Westbrook is healthy for now, but will he be in a committee for the first time since establishing himself? Andy Reid says so, but we’ll find out if he means it this time.
Here are three committees that caught our eye in Week 5:
BILLS:
Fred Jackson: 9
Marshawn Lynch: 8
This was Lynch’s first game back after suspension and you can see what the Bills’ plans are. Jackson played well enough while Lynch was out to earn the carries. But now, neither looks like a very good option.
COLTS:
Joseph Addai: 12
Donald Brown: 9
Check out Brad Morgan’s Red Zone report for more on how this committee is going where it counts, but in terms of overall carries it’s an even timeshare. It doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon.
For a full running back report on all 32 NFL teams, check out the Season Pass.
CHIEFS:
Larry Johnson: 18
Jamaal Charles: 2
Jackie Battle: 1
The question this begs is why? Big Larry is downright horrible but Todd Haley keeps feeding him at all costs. L.J. is the only true feature back in the league that isn’t a real fantasy option.
RANDOM THOUGHTS
* I was reading the St. Petersburg Times this morning (because that’s what I do for fun) and came across the news that Bucs offensive coordinator Greg Olson wants to use Caddy Williams as a full-time back. I thought it was some kind of Halloween prank, designed to make Cadillac’s knees even scarier.
Wasn’t this just the team that said they wanted to implement a 2-2-1 rotation with their backs? Can we really believe anything they say anymore? Are they going to light all the money they gave to Derrick Ward on fire?
Don’t cut Ward yet, his time will come soon enough.
* I promise I’m not being a company suck up when I say that Snapdraft is really cool. There’s nothing like instant gratification in life, and to get instant daily or weekly payouts in fantasy sports is quite possibly too much for me to handle. Check it out here.
* Here’s some interesting stats on Ted Ginn, courtesy of the Miami Herald. The former No. 9 overall pick has gained six yards after the catch this season on 14 receptions. No, that is not a misprint. Six! He could fall forward a few times and get six yards.
Ginn has also been targeted 30 times and come down with just those 14 receptions. That’s an anemic number. Davone Bess has caught 20 of the 24 balls that have come his way.
I watched Ted Ginn closely the last time he played on Monday night and wasn’t impressed. No, it’s not because of those two balls he didn't come up with that could have won the game. Those were tough catches. It’s because he doesn’t get separation and doesn’t make people miss.
I’ll be watching him again this Monday night, but I’m not expecting much.
* Does Michael Crabtree really know M.C. Hammer AND Deion Sanders? Really?
* Eagles RT Shawn Andrews has one of the funnier Youtube videos out there by an NFL player. Here’s the link. But Evan Silva recently turned me on to Malcolm Kelly’s freestyle while at Oklahoma. Can’t believe I had never seen it before. Did he battle Eminem in 8 mile?
* The Tweet of the week comes from ESPN’s Bill Simmons, on the Braylon Edwards trade: “Braylon Edwards is going to go over in NYC about as well as a 50-foot Dustin Pedroia statue.”

I do not understand why it would be a prank to start caddy. You must have drafted ward or made another lousy prediction. Caddy is the best back on the team. Ride the caddilac in style. Ward is not as good as him. Caddy is better. He is injury prone yes. So is ward. What is the quarrel here. Caddy has out produced ward. Caddy has been there every game. Ward has not. Ward was a product of the giants. Bottom line. Look at bradshaw. He is not an every down back. He has not done much and will not unless caddy goes down. Even then he will only be a flex play at best.
donald brown is damn good I like him and think addai is to injury prone. They should be giving brown more touches he is there future. Liked him ever sense I seen him at UCONN. Great player.
Buffalo runningbacks are worth diddly with a split. Anyone that did not see that coming is not to smart should of traded either of them two weeks ago. Even split on bad team kills.
Do not even get me going on larry. If you drafted this guy you are a bone head. That is as bad as thinking cassel is some star.

You also do not have to worry about these guys that just bash you. Or the band wagoners that come along with them. The people on there are great. Not clowns with targets. Trust me friendly enviorment. I know people are looking for answers and not insults. There is more insulting on here than answers.

Ginn's short - 5'11" - he'd have to fall down down *four* times to gain those six yards!

I just wish Charles could hang onto the bal in KC - LJ getting 18 touches and Jamaal getting two makes my eyes water with tears...

I could have sworn this was a football site, but the story started out with baseball stuff and then finished with a joke you wouldn't get unless you followed baseball. When are these baseball dorks going to realize that no one cares about a sport where they play 162 games a year?
