Hard Knocks Rehash: Chad looks REAL good

it was hard not to notice how impressive Chad Ochocinco looked on Wednesday night's premier of HBO's Hard Knocks. Yes, his personality is still way over the top. Even coach Marvin Lewis acknowledged that Chad is obsessed with his U Stream TV show and Twitter. But Ocho's training his tail off and is in extremely sleek physical condition. He has the body of a deep threat again, and I can't wait to see him play a few series Friday night at New Orleans.
With an Average Draft Position of 53.2 (sixth round in a ten-team league; mid-fifth in 12-team settings), Ochocinco is consistently being drafted as a borderline WR2/3. I wouldn't bet on Chad resuming 1,400-yard seasons at age 31, but he's offering pretty good value. He's an ideal late fifth-round pick.

How does Chad's value compare to other talented-but-troubled WRs like Brandon Marshall and Braylon Edwards? I'm thinking about targeting one or more of these guys since everyone seems to be scared of them.

Well if that's the case, Scott C., Chad already had his "Marvin Harrison of 2008" year, in 2008. Luckily, Ochocinco is six years younger than Harrison and has his All-Pro caliber QB back.

ahh.. touche.. but i was more stating that harrison had the same hype buildup at this time last year, and that once a receiver passes no-mans land, and significantly falls off a cliff after an injury plagued season, its likely to continue that trend the next year. at his age, its very possible for ocho. id steer clear, but i guess im alone on that theory. but then again, i wouldnt touch addai, westbrook, LT, TO etc, etc.
and harrison did have an all pro qb last year too.

i thought T.O. looked darn good in the Hall of Fame game (though admittedly small sample size).

it will be interesting to see whether he or evans does better this year. i like evans better... but u never know. still, i dont think TO will reach anywhere near his stats last year, or his adp this year. but jmo

I usually see eye to eye with Scott C. but I also do with Evan - and here I have to side with Evan. Chad looks great and an ankle injury and shoulder injury that are now 100% are nothing to worry about. The thing with Chad is that his own Ego are pushing him to get back to that upper echelon. I like his chances for a big year - I think he could be the best value of the draft. I also like Braylon Edwards an AWFUL lot. As for T.O. I thought he looked good also Evan but I am more leary of him than Chad and Edwards. Addai I think has value written all over him also - I mean if he slides to the 6th round how can you not grab him as your #3 and roll the dice there? Good stuff guys. Evan keep them coming. Oh and as a diehard Dolphins fan - you are dead on with your Bess call, maybe not league lead- but 85 is certainly possible. Especially with the tough schedule the Phins may be trailing more and have to throw more often. And don;t just dismiss that if Henne takes over (as I sisupect he will) in the second half of the year, he will immediately go away from Bess. Won't happen, Henne will need the underneath security blanket.
