Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson points out that film analysis shows LaDainian Tomlinson heavily declining. Aging and injury-prone players may often be worth a roll of the dice if there's a reasonable chance of a perfect-storm monster season still left in the tank, but Tomlinson's ceiling is no longer 2,000 total yards and 20+ touchdowns.
NFL Fanhouse's legal expert, Stephanie Stradley, breaks down Ben Roethlisberger's civil suit and how it relates to the NFL Conduct Policy. As PFT's Mike Florio points out, the resolution to this drama could be a long time coming. I wouldn't expect Big Ben to miss any action this season.
The Raiders are a backfield in motion this summer. Check out beat writer Jerry McDonald's analysis, which bolsters our mid-May recommendation to buy Darren McFadden in Dynasty leagues. McDonald is calling for 50-plus receptions, a forecast that matches up well with Football Outsiders' predictions. Re-draft PPR leaguers take notice.
Fantasyfootballtalk.net picks five players to avoid drafting this summer, and I can't say that I disagree with any of their selections.
Fantasy Football Tool Box chooses 10 Heirs Apparent -- "players on the cusp of breaking out" based on their situations. It's a list worth checking out for both re-drafters and Dynasty leaguers alike.
The Hazean provides a list of 27 resources to help fantasy football owners in preparing for their drafts this summer. Pancake Blocks blog and Rotoworld's NFL coverage predictably made the list, as did the Fantasy Football Calculator and the Fantasy Football Librarian.
The Sports Data Hub presents a case for DeAngelo Williams going No. 1 overall, at which our own Evan Silva would surely scoff.
Thoughts on Ahmad Bradshaw's Dynasty value.

I'm not sure I agree with profootballtalk when adding Marion Barber to their list of players to avoid. Do you agree with them on this, Chris?

Personally, I won't be drafting MBIII.
I'd say he's the one player on that list I was surprised to see, but I'm still not crazy about spending an early second-round pick on him.

I'd still take MBIII in the early second round without blinking. Less carries will be good for him, and he's still a good bet for 10+ TDs and over 1,200 total yards. He's great catching passes out of the backfield.

About a year too late on the LT2 article there Matt Williamson. The Chargers O-line is as much to blame for LT's decline as is his injuries.
I told anyone who would listen to avoid LT2 last year but my gut tells me 2009 will be his last shot at glory and he'll put up some decent numbers.

Yeah, I think the LT article is probably more useful for keeper/dynasty league owners rather than re-drafters.
Although, in Williamson's defense, he's writing from a scout's point of view as opposed to a fantasy analyst. He's going by what the film is showing him. It didn't show him the same thing prior to 2008.

LT had a toe injury. Helllo! Nobody cuts, jumps, or explodes out of thier cuts with a toe injury. Going into last year he wasn't declining. I think LT will be just fine
