Industry draft: Reggie Bush sinks like a stone

The National Football Post's industry draft kicked off Tuesday night at about 10:30 p.m. ET. Gregg finally took his nose off the PFT grindstone for the last train out of town at 11:00, so I stepped in to pinch-hit for Rotoworld. See below for first two rounds:

***Non-PPR League First Round (10-team league)

2. Yahoo! - Matt Forte
3. RotoExperts - Michael Turner
4. Rotoworld - Maurice Jones-Drew
5. Hardcore Fantasy Show - Drew Brees
6. National Football Post - LaDainian Tomlinson
7. Fantasy Sharks - Tom Brady
8. ESPN - Larry Fitzgerald
9. Sports Illustrated - Steven Jackson
10. CBSSportsline - Andre Johnson

***Non-PPR League Second Round (10-team league)

1. CBSSportsline - Randy Moss
2. Sports Illustrated - Chris Johnson
3. ESPN - Brian Westbrook
4. Fantasy Sharks - DeAngelo Williams
5. National Football Post - Greg Jennings
6. Hardcore Fantasy Show - Steve Slaton
7. Rotoworld - Frank Gore
8. RotoExperts - Calvin Johnson
9. Yahoo! - Brandon Marshall
10. NFL Gridiron Gab - Peyton Manning

Observations:

Reggie Bush is sinking like a stone. Sticking out like a sore thumb in this draft, Bush fell all the way to the early seventh round (pick No. 62 overall). In a 12-team draft, he would have gone early in the sixth. We've been pointing out that Pierre Thomas is a more effective per-touch player, but it's still surprising to see Bush fall behind the likes of Willie Parker, Beanie Wells, Joseph Addai and Donald Brown. This is not a PPR league, which does dampen Bush's value, but it appears that questions about his knee as well as his role in the offense are leaving drafters without a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Steven Jackson and Frank Gore remain undervalued. Both players are among the top talents at their position, showcasing solid all-around skills and a considerable role in the passing game. Better yet, they remain the centerpiece of their teams' offenses and figure to remain workhorses all season long. Evaluate the talent and situation, not last year's stats.

Misc: LaDainian Tomlinson is still going around Top-6, which is too high for our taste. DeAngelo Williams slid to 14th overall, at which point he becomes very solid value. Despite the hip surgery, trade request and all-around knucklehead factor, Brandon Marshall went higher than he did last year. Peyton Manning remains a fantastic value, still going at least a full round behind Drew Brees and Tom Brady.

Pick #72 in a 10 team draft would be early 8th round...

Math is hard...

Whoops! Good catch. That's because he went No. 62 overall, and I mis-typed.

what's up with tundra? no updates for a week? come on wess, its without a doubt one of the best kept secrets in dynasty blogs. well except for the CJ man crush that is.

After years of thinking he was over-rated and over-drafted (and being right), I think he might actually be underrated by enough people to be good value this year, in some leagues. He'll catch a bunch of passes and probably end up averaging about 10 fantasy points per game...you could certainly do worse.

Marshall 19th overall... nice yahoo. I hope you laughed at em Wess.

Hard to believe you could get MJD and Gore in an industry draft. Nice job Chris.
