Dynasty league gems in Jacksonville

Has anyone noticed the Jaguars' draft haul flying under the radar? After landing top-flight interior line talent early (Eugene Monroe, Eben Britton and Terrance Knighton), they then turned their attention to late-round steals at the skill positions. Dynasty league drafters should keep Jacksonville in mind this summer because that offense is the land of opportunity right now.

  • Rashad Jennings, 7th round RB – Considered a possible second-rounder leading up to the draft, the small-school product slid to the Jags for reasons still unknown. He was arguably the offensive MVP during OTAs and already has a leg up on Chauncey Washington for the No. 2 job.

  • Jarett Dillard, 5th round WR – Knocked for his size and mediocre top-end speed, Dillard’s college production rivaled that of Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald. He combines Marvin Harrison-esque hip-sink in his route running with the best leaping ability in his rookie class. OC Dirk Koetter is equally as high on his velcro hands and football IQ, and the former Rice Owl has just a creaky-kneed Mike Walker and an aging Torry Holt in front of him.

  • Mike Thomas, 4th round WR – Explosive in the short field, Thomas is a prototypical slot receiver who doubles as a dangerous kick returner. The all-time Pac-10 career receptions leader has drawn comparisons to Steve Smith and Santana Moss and could step in as the No. 3 receiver as a rookie.

  • Zach Miller, 6th round TE – The converted quarterback flashed “difference-making” ability during OTAs, and his speed has been compared favorably to Dallas Clark and Owen Daniels. Marcedes Lewis, yet to graduate to reliable receiver, is a free agent after the 2010 season, potentially leaving open the starting tight end job for Miller by 2011.

Rashad Jennings went to school 20 minutes from where I live. I waited through the entire 2 nd round waiting to see CIN CLE JAX NE HOU or SEA take this talented bruiser.

I thought to myself.... have any of these teams actually seen this guy? With such sad RB as most of them have how could they keep letting his slip? Did no one make it to the combine, or even have YouTube.

The guy is built like a Brick Shit House, has decent hands. and runs with more anger than Brandon Jacobs after his cat died. (Dont know if that happened but I dont want to see him on a Sunday if it does)

Then I sat patiently through the ENTIRE 2nd day to see him land in an awesome situation behind MJD. He will definitaly by my Flier pick of choice this year.

We really like Jennings. He is a high character individual capable of developing into a nice compliment to MJD. He ranked highly in our pre-draft rankings. Totally surprised to see him fall as far as he did.

Dillard and Thomas are nice developmental players. Keep a close eye on Thomas especially. He's been getting all the hype in OTA's, if training camp goes the same, there could be something special there.

It was a match made in heaven for Jennings to land in Jacksonville.

I knew that he had the best shot to land there since Del Rio and Co. got to coach him at the 2009 Senior Bowl. Where he showed what hes going to be capable of.

    Too Badfor Chauncey Washington.

In dynasty leagues I can see Jennings having decent value. But falling behind MJD is anything but "ideal" in my oppinion.

i was thinking the same thing when jax drafted jennings. they let taylor go, so why wouldn't jennings assume the taylor role in jax (albeit with fewer carries at least at first)? he's the straight-ahead bruiser type, and mojo is the shifty runner/receiver. could be speculative, but isn't rashad worth at least a late-round pick this year? or is he going to lose out to greg jones?
