A Marshall move wouldn't be devastating

Brandon Marshall wants out. He thinks he's getting out too, after meeting with Pat Bowlen. A lot of NFL observers believe Marshall won't go anywhere, and that's my guess as well. Denver has him under contract for at least one more year, two under the current collective bargaining agreement.

Will another team give up the necessary price (a first-rounder to start) to acquire someone coming off hip surgery that is one slip-up away from a long league suspension?

While the Broncos won't just give Marshall away, but the only reason a trade is possible is that NFL teams see the same thing we do on Sundays: the kid is a beast, and someone may think they can turn his life around.

Of course, I didn't think Jay Cutler would get moved either, and look what happened.

The main difference in this situation is that Marshall's fantasy value won't be too effected by a move. The teams mentioned as possibilities (Baltimore, Cleveland, Tampa, Chicago) don't have great passing attacks, but neither does Denver. More than anything, Marshall's move would hurt Kyle Orton and possibly help get Eddie Royal more targets.

I'm going to be a PPR monster this year!!

Sorry, I only have eyes for Scheffler, Eddie.

What are you talking about, Neckbeard? The Broncos are reportedly trying to trade me too!!! I want out of this one now.

Denvers owner wanted to move in a different direction from Shanahan and he did, straight down. Step one hire a new coach that starts immidiate problems with thier franchise QB, which in turn causes problems with thier starting TE. What's left, thier best proven offensive weapon is going to get shipped out also. Maybe Denvers owner should reconsider giving Shanahan his old job back. Denvers D was horrible last year maybe they should fix that. Denver is going to get killed this year.

can it really be this bad in denver? will it be a horrible losing season for them? i want to give them so credit, saying these moves wont cost them in the end, but its hard to do. i really dont know if they will win 6 games this year. is that their max? its such a weak division, they have to win 7-8 right?

i think a Marshall move WILL hurt his value some (unless he were to go to Chicago, which appears highly unlikely given recent comments). other than Moss and TO, not many WRs change teams with much success. new QB, new coaches, and likely a new system. this guy doesn't seem like the type to study the playbook hard either. and the teams being mentioned (baltimore, cleveland and yikes tampa) are all fairly unattractive. TB will have at some point soon a rookie QB, cleveland has checkdown Brady who can't throw downfield (ask Braylon), and baltimore looks likely to keep a run-heavy, strong-D attack (with all due respect to Flacco, i don't see baltimore becoming pass-happy any time in the next 3 years). marshall owners should pray he stays in Denver, even with the already lower expectations for what he would do with Orton. a trade to Chicago would have been great, but even Cutler has made zero comments pushing for that.

Maybe Denver will screw themselves into next years #1 overall pick!

Oh yea, they traded their first rounder to Seattle... :)
