Slaton a second-round value?

While I prepare a post (probably for tomorrow) bashing Visanthe Shiancoe to kingdom come in light of multiple commenters rushing to the Minnesota tight end's defense in Chris Wesseling's last round of Dynasty ranks, here is an update on my re-draft mock.
I feel strongly about the tight ends because Gregg "don't call me boss" Rosenthal let me rank and profile them for our magazine this year. In seasons past, I'd do kickers, defense, some low-level receivers and third-down back types.
Remember, we start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF/ST. There is no FLEX and it's one point per reception.
1.1 Maurice Jones-Drew
1.2 Adrian Peterson
1.3 Brian Westbrook
1.4 LaDainian Tomlinson
1.5 Michael Turner
1.6 Matt Forte
1.7 Chris Johnson
1.8 Rotoworld - Steven Jackson
1.9 Larry Fitzgerald
1.10 DeAngelo Williams
1.11 Frank Gore
1.12 Andre Johnson
2.1 Calvin Johnson
2.2 Randy Moss
2.3 Steve Smith
2.4 Marion Barber
2.5 Rotoworld - Steve Slaton
UPDATES: 2.6 Reggie Wayne
2.7 Greg Jennings
2.8 Brandon Jacobs
2.9 Clinton Portis
2.10 Tom Brady
2.11 Marques Colston
2.12 Roddy White
3.1 Drew Brees
3.2 Wes Welker
3.3 Anquan Boldin
3.4 Dwayne Bowe
3.5 Kevin Smith
3.6 Brandon Marshall
3.7 Reggie Bush
3.8 Rotoworld - Terrell Owens
3.9 Ronnie Brown
3.10 Thomas Jones
3.11 Peyton Manning
3.12 Marshawn Lynch
4.1 Jason Witten
4.2 Braylon Edwards
4.3 T.J. Houshmandzadeh
4.4 Antonio Gates
4.5 Rotoworld - Eddie Royal
4.6 Tony Gonzalez
4.7 Pierre Thomas
4.8 Darren McFadden
Like Wesseling, I have my doubts about Slaton in the long run. He looked great early in his college career too, before his injury-proneness and lack of ideal size caught up with him and he broke down. There were rumors that Slaton was pushed out at West Virginia due to the presence of Noel Devine. This, obviously, is a re-draft league and I felt the value was too good to pass. My other main consideration was Roddy White, but had Slaton in my top-ten overall for this format.
My receivers won't be elite, but it's easier to draft 3-4 WR2/3 types than 2 premier every-down backs who catch passes. After two picks, my starting lineup stands at:
QB:
RB: Steven Jackson
RB: Steve Slaton
WR: Terrell Owens
WR: Eddie Royal
TE:
K:
DEF:

Scott C. - I made that pick just for you after you called Steven Jackson at No. 8 "horrible."

Roy Williams = Round 3 sneaky target

Not sure what's worse: Turner/Jacobs out the gate in a PPR re-draft or the owner of LT/Portis thinking this is 2006.

Tom Brady!? Tom Brady!? The guy is way too much of an injury risk! He only started one game last year! You have to go all the way back to 2007 to find any good stats on the guy! Horrible pick!
(sarcastic rant off)

seriously -- has that guy not seen Jacobs try to catch a pass? he really has to have the worst hands of any RB in the league. julius peppers has better hands.
i agree with Slaton, both that his size will catch up to him and that he's still a very nice re-draft pick for this year. with the possible exception of portis, there's probably a nice drop off in RBs after Slaton.
surprised you guys only start 2 WRs, that's kind of odd, and really undermines WR value.
hope you like Matt Ryan because your tier 1 QBs will be gone by your 3rd pick....(and yes i know that was a dynasty ranking, but still)
