Start the Super Bowl XLVII countdown

Since Rotoworld was acquired by NBC in 2006, I've kept two modest career goals. (It's important to set the bar low, so you can exceed expectations.)
1. I want to watch an episode of the Fantasy Fix in the back of a New York City taxi. Preferably, I won't be sober in this scenario.
2. I want to cover a Super Bowl in New Orleans, the city I went to college in. Preferably I will be sober so I don't fired.
After Tuesday's announcement that the Super Bowl will return to NOLA in 2013, I'm inching closer to goal number two.
Like most people who have lived in New Orleans for any period of time, the city is never far from my heart and mind. (This was also true before Katrina and especially true this week after watching the amazing movie Trouble the Water on HBO, a must-Tivo.)
Getting the city's tenth Super Bowl may not seem that important, but it's a big deal to the Big Easy. Jeff Duncan of the Picayune explains the significance well.
So it's a happy day. I'm happy for the city, happy for all the diehard Saints fans, and selfishly happy for myself because nothing would top covering my favorite sport in my favorite city in the world. I'm a total sap, so stepping out into a warm New Orleans night after covering the big game would probably knock me over with contentment. Now I just have to figure out how to keep this gig four more years.

C'mon down Gregg. We're already warming up the Gumbo and boiling a pot a Crawdads. It's a great day for not just New Orleans, but for people all over the world who love her rich music, her glorious cuisine and her zany, carefree ways. Laissez le bon temps roullez!!!
