Where might Braylon Edwards wind up?
Michael Lombardi has been all over the trade winds blowing out of Cleveland the past couple of days. He stated Sunday that the Browns have No. 1 picks on the table for both Brady Quinn and Braylon Edwards and followed up Monday with the revelation that the team is holding out for more than first-round pick for Edwards. So where might the drop-plagued playmaker wind up?
1. Giants – The prohibitive favorites. The Giants desperately need a big, playmaking wide receiver to fill Plaxico Burress’ shoes. While they have an extra pick in both the second and third round, they don’t have the roster space to carry a draft full of rookies. Throw in the fact that the teams have already tossed Edwards name around in trade talks, and it makes even more sense.
2. Eagles - While they’ve seemingly been linked to every available wide receiver over the years, the front office continues to deny that it’s an area of need. You know and I know that the Eagles’ extra first-rounder makes sense as Braylon Edwards bait, but it would be out of character for the Reid/Heckert regime to pull the trigger.
3. Bears – The Cutler trade and Pace signing signaled a move to “win-now” mode as the Bears try to pry open their Super Bowl window for a year. Unfortunately, Cutler doesn’t have the receiving weapons to initiate a top-flight offense. The Bears would have to part with next year’s No. 1 to make it happen.
4. Ravens –The Ravens bypassed the rebuilding stage last season behind the arm of surprising rookie Joe Flacco, but Flacco needs a playmaker to take the next step. The only sticking point is that the Browns are unlikely to strike a deal with their division rival.

The Bears already gave their 2010 1st rounder to Denver. They don't have any picks left to make a deal for Edwards. I doubt they'll get him for their 2nd rounder and the comp 3rd.

The Bears traded their 2010 1st rounder as part of the Jay Cutler trade and therefore trading next year's #1 isn't an option, and I don't think Cleveland would want to wait for their 2011 #1. Maybe a whole bunch of #2 picks but this would just serve to cripple the Bears in the long run. Realisticly, the Bears don't have the ammo to make this happen on draft picks alone.

what about the jets? they badly need a wr, theres the mangini connection in place, and in our mock draft the jets guy just offered his first round pick and 4th rounder (imaginary) for braylon, and i, the browns selector, took it.

i gotta believe almost any of these deals, with the possible exception of Baltimore, is a nice plus for Braylon's fantasy value -- getting Eli, Cutler, or McNabb as his QB has to be a nice upgrade over Checkdown Brady or the inconsistent Derek
