Pancake Blocks Mock: Pick No. 9
The commenter known simply as "Bob" offers up his take on who GM Ted Thompson will eyeball at No. 9 in the NFL Draft.
The Packers are the Minnesota Twins of the NFL - they develop talent. Ted Thompson has “prospects” at almost every position and the team has an attitude of competition making the team better.
The Pack seem to be losing one of the most underrated right tackles in the league in Mark Taucher; that glaring hole in the depth chart is why the Packers will look to the already famous Michael Oher, OT from Ole Miss.
Oher is an outstanding athlete that can finally be the tackle the Pack has needed for its ZBS (zone-blocking scheme), his long arms and pass blocking ability will fit perfectly into a line that needs to keep Aaron Rodgers upright and healthy, churning out the points, while the new 3-4 “D” comes into its own. We may see a year on the right side and then sliding to the left for the next 9 years after LT Chad Clifton's retirement.
2009 Pancake Blocks Mock Draft
1. Detroit Lions (Sparty) - Jason Smith
2. St. Louis Rams (Evan) - Eugene Monroe
3. Kansas City Chiefs (Dude Abides) - Michael Crabtree
4. Seattle Seahawks (LunaticFringe) - Aaron Curry
5. Cleveland Browns (Thomas G.) - Aaron Maybin
6. Cincinnati Bengals (Wesseling) - Brian Orakpo
7. Oakland Raiders (Andrew W.) - Jeremy Maclin
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (Matt G.) - B.J. Raji
9. Green Bay Packers (Bob) - Michael Oher
10. San Francisco 49ers (Wes H.) - On the clock.

That would be amazing if Mr. Blindside himself started out his career on the right.

Bumping this one homies, sorry, don't usually do it.
"easy there, everyone. and Dox, of course just went with who asked first."

actually i staked my claim over a year ago when some guy who wasn't even a fan wound up drafting for the falcons. i guess that wasn't soon enough? or too soon? you can take it easy on the other guys as i'm sure they haven't been reading long enough to realize that. i'm quite accustomed to getting scalded on this blog. hopefully Andrew is a Falcons fan and not just a bored idiot who wants to mock draft.
sorry i hurt your feelings, Silva and Wesseling - you guys are awesome, but i liked the "blog" a lot better when it was Gregg's. a "blog" run by multiple people is no different than the rest of the site. look up "blog" (first line includes "maintained by an individual").
i would post that i will pick for the falcons in 2010, but obviously that is pointless.
sorry for breakin' balls 60% but that's what i do.

Anything other than Jon Scheyer here is just clownish.
And Dox, I'm sorry to say but your strict adherence to formalism is idiotic. You do realize that many of the best blogs are more often than not collaborations, not individual endeavors, right? (deadspin, ksk, EDSBS to name a few) As a fan of Wess's blog I say welcome to him and to Evan as well. There's much discussed on this blog that doesn't make its way into an actual rotoworld article, so to say that it's redundant of RW itself is silly.
