Pancake Blocks Mock: Pick No. 4
With DJ Omaha M.I.A., LunaticFringe stepped up to make the Seahawks' Mock Pick. LunaticFringe (no known relation to the once-popular St. Lunatics) offers up his idea of who GM Tim Ruskell should draft to get the Jim Mora era started right.
The Seattle Seahawks, with the 4th pick in the 2009 Rotoworld Mock Draft, select Aaron Curry, linebacker from Wake Forest University.
Curry played strong-side linebacker at Wake and will be able to step into the void left by the Peterson trade. With LeRoy 'sleepy' Hill having his little offseason adventure and having not yet signed his franchise tender, Curry presents the Seahawks with a perfect opportunity to plug an important gap and get an impact player who can step right into the lineup.
2009 Pancake Blocks Mock Draft
1. Detroit Lions (Sparty) - Jason Smith
2. St. Louis Rams (Evan) - Eugene Monroe
3. Kansas City Chiefs (Dude Abides) - Michael Crabtree
4. Seattle Seahawks (LunaticFringe) - Aaron Curry
5. Cleveland Browns (Thomas G.) - On the clock with a roster full of holes.

Comments
This draft is a nightmare for the Bengals.
Is there really a chance that none of the quarterbacks go in the top-4?

wess,
i doubt it. i think our top two picks could pan out correct but i think SEA will go in a different direction here: QB, T, etc... I think curry is a little too high for top 5, eventhough everyone is projecting him to go either KC, here, or in the next few picks. im not sold on him.

No worries John. I hate to be "that guy". I'm sure it was extremely annoying to everyone. To be honest, I didn't even know I had been selected to choose for Seattle until I got back to work and checked the board. Oops.
For the record, I think Curry was without question the top player on the board in this draft, so it was a solid pick and I may have made the same choice given the situation. I don't see Curry getting past K.C. though and I like Seattle to take either Oher or Jason Smith, whoever isn't selected by St. Louis (I fully expect Detroit to take Stafford).
Still a nice pick. Thanks Lunatic.

Thanks for that DJ. I figure the same; that KC will take Curry before Seattle would have the chance. Then the 'Hawks would go with whichever of the two top tackles - Monroe or Jason Smith - is available.
The way this draft shook out, with both those OTs and Crabtree off the board, it was a no-brainer to me to take Curry. LB became one of the holes they needed to fill when Peterson was traded.
I can't see them taking either of the 2 QBs and Oher & Andre Smith were reaches at #4.
