Pancake Blocks Mock: Pick No. 29 (The Wife!)
Next up is my wife's pick. While she has won the only fantasy league that she's ever played in (all women!), she's a little short on draft knowledge. So I wrote down ten reasonable names on a piece of paper and let her choose.
Our conversation went something like this:
Wife: I choose Kenny Britt. Because I like the idea of yelling "Go Britt!"
Gregg: That works. Short and sweet.
Wife: What position does he play?
Gregg: Wide receiver.
Wife: Well, that's perfect. Don't the Giants need a wide receiver?
Gregg: (Silently amazed and beaming with something resembling pride)
And so that her "Go Britt" comment makes a little more sense ...
* If my wife is going to be obsessed with another man, at least he's also short and hairy.

Wow, Kenny Britt over DHB? Kenny Britt must have some incriminating pictures of GM Jerry Reese! Vacchiano and Garofalo have stated that the Giants view Britt as a second round option. Nicks or DHB will lokely be the pick in real life.

Love it. I keep quizzing my wife on the viking players but she can't for the life of her remember that Tavaris Jackson is (sort of) our quarterback; she invariably answers Johnson (Brad) who was the quarterback when I started this trial of futility. On the plus, she lets me watch as much football as I want and looks awesome in her jersey - so I'm not really complaining. She does know Adrian Peterson and comes up with Chester Taylor but doesn't know what he does...

By the way if anyone can find video of the the scene where they go back and forth saying, "Brit and Bret" for a minute ... let me know.
