Pancake Blocks Mock: Pick No. 21
The Eagles sent the lesser of their two first-round picks to Buffalo, but still own a pick in round one. Here's Eagles fan Jack Adams with the Birds at No. 21.
The addition of LT Jason Peters allows the Eagles to turn their attention to other needs with their remaining first round pick. With the departure of Brian Dawkins, the most pressing need on the team would appear to be at Safety but it's probably too early to take one from this year's mediocre crop. They could also use a between-the-tackles halfback.
Brian Westbrook is aging and brittle and though Lorenzo Booker is a talented receiver out of the backfield, he lacks the leg drive to push the pile in goal-line situations (where the Eagles have struggled). The way this particular mock draft has shaped up, the Eagles brass is going to have to make a choice: Cater to their inexhaustible desire for Defensive Linemen and take DE Michael Johnson or select one of the talented running backs who have fallen so handily to them this late in Round 1.
Georgia HB K. Moreno is an aggressive inside runner with the receiving skills to excel in the Eagles offense.
With the 21st pick in the Pancake Blocks Mock Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select: HB Knowshon Moreno.

I haven't seen it in mock drafts, but don't be surprised if the Eagles take Alex Mack (complete the o-line overhaul... Jamal Jackson's run-blocking leaves a lot to be desired) or a defensive end with this pick.
I've read the Eagles are high on Rashard Jennings as a second round prospect.
Still, getting Moreno here would address a huge need and be a great value. I sort of have a hard time believing Moreno will still be available at that spot, but I guess there are only a couple teams that could be a threat to take him.

i question how big of a need PHI feels RB is. they havent ever drafted a first rd rb in the heckert/reid era so i doubt they do it here. moreno isnt the highest profile rb coming out of the draft in recent years, but he is somewhat higher than what they look for. this will be a telling pick on that they will have great concern of westbrooks health and try to draft his successor (with this pick) rather than his backfield mate (with a later round pick). i gonna go with them taking the later rd pick.

Andy Reid did make the shocking statement in the playoffs last year that the key to winning is running the ball and playing good defense... taking Moreno would certainly be a good "put your money where your mouth is" kind of move.
Regardless of how you feel about Westbrook, he gets banged up and Lorenzo Booker is your ... um... "feature" back. Yikes!

So, uh, does that mean I get to pick 28th? That'd be great!
