UPDATE: Welcome aboard LJ, Burner, Lance

I wound up accepting the dynasty trade offer as-is following Monday's lengthy debate on this blog. All feedback was greatly appreciated. The discussion was nearly as popular as our first Oklahoma Drill, generating only one fewer comment than the heated Cutler back-and-forth.
The owner I executed the trade with, Smitty from FantasyFootballXtreme, held a similar discussion. For anyone still interested, the thread can be found here.
Like at FFXtreme, opinions here were divided.
For accepting the trade (6): VeggieB, Tommy, HolyHitter, Roy, Captain Obvious, Pac Eddy
Against accepting (8): Jimmo, Kirby, Anonymous, Jesse, Chris Wesseling, Scott C., CGeezy, Juggs
Seemingly on the fence (2): Reaper, The Dude Abides
The proposal was very fair. Ultimately I decided that in the non-PPR format Michael Turner was easily the premier player. I don't like the horizontal offense San Francisco is installing under Jimmy Raye, or the prospect of the Niners implementing a two-back system, as GM Scot McCloughan has pushed for. There will be little vertical threat in San Francisco, and the box will be stacked.
Losing Brandon Marshall was tough, but I'm confident that Lance Moore, Torry Holt, Miles Austin, Mike Walker, and perhaps my boy Hakeem Nicks can combine to give me viable matchup-based options opposite Larry Fitzgerald on a weekly basis.
Again, thanks to everyone who got involved.

good luck man.

I did not do the math after reading their commentary, but it seemed to be the opposite view on their site. Close, but that they should not do the trade.
I stand by my analysis, but I often have found that if you want a player you need to overpay because the other person is nervous about being taken.
The opposite numbers would suggest that theory held. As commentators I view the trade from your perspective and am risk averse for you. There commentators are risk adverse for him. Interesting.
Good luck and don't blame me if Gore is the fantasy MVP this year.

You can blame me if Gore is Fantasy MVP this year.

yea, i like gore a lot this year too. i hope rotoworld backs him as a draft value. i compare him to s.jax.... someone who always teases with his 3down ability. although sjax never really catches that many passes. i like to see what singletary does with his big commitment to the run this year. i think will have good numbers this year.
i really would pass on LJ. and Moore's numbers are probably more of a no.3 receiver than a wr.2. i think thats a big fall off from marshall. if Larry Fitz gets hurt, Silva might be in trouble. he's gonna need one of his sleeper receivers to get a 1000ydrs... thats pretty agressive thinking.
i think evan really, really wants turner. cant blame him there. and ur right... sometimes u gotta overpay to get what u want. i just hope he ships LJ and Holt and Moore for a receiver upgrade (a.gonzales?? eddie royal?? colston??). he should be okay then.

S-Jaxx doesn't catch passes??? He averaged 39 the past 2 season despite missing 4 full games a year and parts of others. The year before that he caught 90!!
He is a superior talent to Gore with a better line (especially after Smith or Monroe are added to Josh Brown). Jackson also hasn't had the significant knee problems Gore has as his injuries have been mostly of the "unlucky" variety.

Hey everyone, I'm Smitty (the guy on the other end of this trade). I just wanted to swing by and say hello.
I have to say, Evan is always good for some trade talk and he usually doesn't mess around - And we can usually get deals done within 24 hours. It was a pleasure doing business with ya, Evan!
As for the trade, I have to say that the topic has created about the same amount of buzz over on our side of the tracks. People either love it or hate it. When that occurs, you know you're doing something right. It's a great topic with controversial players and it really has created some solid content if you ask me.
Great comments everyone and great write-up, Evan. I will keep checking back, as I'm looking forward to reading more comments on the matter.

I think it was a fair deal for both sides. I wouldnt have done it for my team just becaues I don't love the players Silva got and I don't bother to make a trade unless I really am behind it. fair is not enough.
but evan clearly wanted turner so it made sense for him.
