Minus Jones, Jags will still go BPA

Matt Jones' release leaves Jacksonville with the league's weakest receiver corps, as Chris Wesseling explained. It doesn't necessarily mean the Jags will draft a wideout eighth overall, though.
GM Gene Smith made it clear when he replaced Shack Harris as GM that he'll use a Best Player Available approach. The Jags have consistently drafted for need in the first round this decade (Derrick Harvey, Reggie Williams, Jones, R. Jay Soward), and it's gotten them nowhere.
The Jags have "needs" at cornerback (or safety, depending on where Brian Williams plays this year), offensive tackle (Tra Thomas is a stopgap), defensive tackle (John Henderson is declining and Rob Meier is much better in a situational role), defensive end (there's no proven every-down DE on the roster), and arguably quarterback and tailback. With all these holes, they can follow through on Smith's promise to draft the best player available.
The Jags will likely be weak at receiver no matter who they draft or sign. Barring a massive defensive resurgence and dominant campaign from Maurice Jones-Drew, it isn't hard to envision another losing season.

If Crabtree falls to 8 they have to take him.
