Best Remaining Free Agent WRs

Ronald Curry, once a Rotoworld favorite, has received no free agent interest that we know of. He will probably catch on somewhere this summer (Baltimore?), but it's a pretty bad sign that he's not making any pre-draft visits. The "Oakland doesn't want him, so why would we" label might have something to do with it. Here are some other unsigned wide receivers:

The best:
Torry Holt, Matt Jones

The rest:
Curry
Marvin Harrison
Reggie Williams
Shaun McDonald
Roydell Williams
Jerry Porter
Amani Toomer
Drew Bennett
Ashley Lelie
Brandon Lloyd

Holt was in Jacksonville Thursday and figures to make a visit to Nashville later this month. He will likely sign for well above the minimum. Holt seemed to lack motivation last year and his game will likely have to change some for his next team, but he's still a good bet to start somewhere in '09.

Jones is in danger of another suspension. Teams may wait for the league to hand down discipline, or at least hint at what he may be facing, before pursuing him.

Then it gets ugly. Reggie Williams had his DWI charge dropped earlier this month, but has little vertical ability and never improved in Jacksonville. McDonald might have a job if Mike Martz did. With good size and some deep-threat skill, Roydell Williams would be worth a look but his health status is a mystery.

Harrison, Porter, and Toomer are aging and slow. Titans OC Mike Heimerdinger's lack of interest is troubling for Bennett. Lloyd is a headcase and Lelie has regressed every year since his 1,084-yard, seven-touchdown 2004 season.

Good thing this year's draft boasts a strong crop of receivers.

No Torry Holt on here? And Marvin might be half the player he once was, but that's still better than Reggie Williams and Brandon Lloyd.

How about Matt Jones?

whoops, sorry guys. i'll update.

Curry in Baltimore...maybe, but I think they may want to get one in the draft too...
Good post- There's really not a lot out there!

glad i dont have any of these guys

What about DJ Hackett? He hasn't been signed yet, has he?

Oakland didn't want Randy Moss either.
