Good luck trading Michael Vick

The Falcons officially put Michael Vick on the block Friday. Expect him to stay there for a long time. GM Thomas Dimitroff is performing his due diligence, trying to create a market for an asset he no longer has any use for. Unfortunately, Vick isn't much use to the rest of the NFL either.
Vick is due $15.43 million in 2009 in base salary and a bonus. If he was on the open market, he'd be very lucky to get one-third of that money. A team has to take a major P.R. hit just to acquire Vick, not to mention fit him into their offense after he's been away from football for two years. They aren't going to give up any extra trade compensation on top of that, just for the right to re-negotiate Vick's contract before anyone else.
Pacman Jones was dealt while suspended, but he also came with a bargain basement price tag. If Vick's reputation, playing status, and questionable NFL skill set don't scare all trade suitors away, his contract surely will. Look for Dimitroff to eventually dump Vick, but don't expect him to get anything in return except peace of mind.

Vick has A LOT of fans that would love to have him back in the Georgia Dome. Vick would have to restructure his deal, and play one of the other skill positions, but many of us would love to have him back.

What better place for Vick than the "Dog Pound" in Cleveland?

You must be kidding.... $15+ million for a convicted felon serving federal time? What kind of screwed up system is this? Michael Vick may have talent but he has forfeited the right to ever play in any professional sports organization again... his crimes, of which he was convicted and he freely admitted to, are so heinous that words don't begin to describe the special part of h*** that he is destined for.

Mike Vick didn't take a human life. Yes he broke the law but he is not a child molestor nor is he a serial killer. People are so quick to judge but when he is back on top, watch how many people flock back to his bandwagon

People kill me with all this stuff about being a felon. Tehnically, we are all criminal because we all break the law. Everyone who drives a vehicle have been guilty of speeding even if you get away with it. A person should be able to make a living with who or whatever company willing to hire. Some people are just ignorant to the fact that we do not own a heaven or hell to put anyone in. Keep in mind Vick did not waste taxpayers money. He owned up. I believe he deserves a second chance. What took place was cruel, but ask yourself what was worst letting the dogs fight or killing some of them after animal control thought they were to dangerous to adopt out. Talk about double standards.
