Top 50 Keepers: Also receiving votes

I've spent way too much of my day preparing my annual two-part Top-50 keepers column, so let's waste more time here with players that didn't make the cut. Since I'm also including ten players who just missed in the column, these guys are outside of the top 60. The first part of the column will post tonight.

***

Santana Moss, Redskins: Even his rebound season was unsatisfying because it was so uneven.

Kurt Warner, Cardinals: He will be a much better keeper once we know if he's returning to Arizona. Beware Warner at 41 years old if he changes team.

Dallas Clark, Colts: He didn't make the cut, but he did prove that his 2007 season was not a fluke and he played 16 games for the first time. Marvin Harrison's departure will help him.

Earnest Graham, Bucs (Just missed in '08): A terrific NFL asset; but only an average fantasy asset. He'll be splitting carries with someone in '09.

Chris Cooley, Redskins: Quietly set career highs in catches and yards, but his fluky lack of touchdowns killed owners. He's in the Dallas Clark zone as a safe mid-level fantasy starter; nothing wrong with that.

Darren Sproles, Chargers: Because of his size and fumbling problems, I doubt he gets a starting job next season. Splitting carries with LT2 sounds like a best case scenario.

Derrick Ward, Giants: I expected Chester Taylor, Michael Turner, and LaMont Jordan to get starting jobs after great runs as a backup. With Ward, it would be a pleasant surprise if he got one.

Lance Moore, Saints: What was the fluke? Moore's total production or his late-season swoon? The answer, as usual, will probably lie in the middle.

Everyone stay warm in their snuggie tonight.

Looking back at your 2007 column, it is amazing to see how much changes in just a couple years.

i did a lil searching and found the 2008 keepers link.. its crazy to see how much has changed over the past year. t brady, ocho, addai and braylon all top picks. LT2 at no.1 over AP.. ouch

lance moore is hard to judge. not sure he can recapture the success he had last year sans colston. but still early in his career, big offense, pierre thomas-sneaky type talent so there is a possibility... not sure whats gonna happen with him, but does have considerable bust/overpaid potential.

Snuggie!

Haha! They've really been pushing the snuggie on TV the past week or two, I like to call it a uniform for giving up on life.

Yeah the '07 and '08 links are at the top of this page. Yr right that everything changes fast. look at a 2006 draft and it looks like the stone ages.

Where is Matt Forte on ANY of your lists?

Gee, MAYBE top 30 ... you know, since this is a KEEPER list and all.
