Bill Parcells has come out of hiding! (I dont have a picture of him handy, so there's Anthony Fasano.) Miami’s signing of CFL star Cameron Wake is interesting, if only because I can’t remember a CFL star getting $1 million guaranteed on a four-year deal.
That’s similar to a contract a late second round pick would get. He got a little less money up front for a little more over the course of the deal. I can’t ever remember a young CFL player getting that type of deal, so Miami must have had competition for him. Parcells doesn't seem to be going anywhere despite Wayne Huizenga's sale of the Dolphins yesterday.
"What does it look like I’m doing?" Parcells asked a reporter at the Senior Bowl. "It isn’t about money. I have more money than I can spend."
Mike Lombardi picks on Andy Reid’s clock management. And I wholeheartedly agree that anyone making McNabb a scapegoat is ridiculous. The Eagles got beat by a better team on Sunday. The defense got manhandled. Let’s not try to look too deeply past that.
Kansas City’s delay in making a decision on Herm Edwards is starting to have repercussions. Scott Pioli does not make decisions quickly. Cris Collinsworth thinks Cardinals coordinator Todd Haley will be the pick.
After Scott Linehan turned them down, the 49ers turn their eyes to former BC coach Jeff Jagodzinski.
Don Martindale, who sounds like a 70’s Game Show host, just went from a supposed candidate for the Oakland head coaching job to the Broncos linebacker coach. Give Al Davis credit: we really don’t know what’s going on with his coaching search.
Note: If I was Joe Posnanski, I would make a footnote right now and mention that I once had a job watching game shows for 10 hours a day to find clips for Most Outrageous Game Show Moments. Good practice for watching tape. Match Game ruled. Unfortunately, I don't know how to make one of those footnotes.
Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald were just as good as you thought against the Eagles. FootballOutsiders’ numbers had their performances in the top-five at their position in the playoffs since 1985.
It looks like the Broncos are going to a 3-4 defense. That could make Elvis Dumervil a very interesting outside linebacker.

I agree that you should not scapegoat McNabb and the defense got handled.
But McNabb was CLEARLY outplayed by Warner in the first half. McNabb's biggest bugaboo, accuracy, was killing the Eagles in the first half. He may not be "responsible" for the loss but the Eagles could have won had McNabb played better. There is absolutely no question about that.

By the way, whenever MacNab throws it always reminds me of a half-back option pass. It's like he's laboring to throw.
Is MacNab too muscular to throw accurately? Keep in mind I'm talking accurately for a supposedly elite NFL QB. Everything IS relative after all.

As i said on the Trivia Blitz yesterday, McNabb is to blame, but Reid is as well. Reid has no clock management skills, but McNabb plays slugishly with no fire. He had a big drive in the 3rd, but took the full 40 seconds every time to get the play off. There was a key 2nd and 8 TO in the 3rd quarter that the Eagles called because McNabb could not get the play off. They keep that TO and they have 40 more seconds at the end of the game. You knew that when McNabb got the ball with 3 left in the game, we had no chance. He does not have what it takes. I can only remember 2 instances in which he has come from behind to win, and the last one came in 2003.
