The new Mastermind?

As someone who will also be carded well into my thirties (which start in a month. woo!), I can empathize with Josh McDaniels. My advice: kill the buzzcut and don't shave every day.
McDaniels' first presser was pretty dry, but not bone dry like Belichick and Romeo Crennel. You'd expect McDaniels to be uptight during his first presser when he isn't allowed to give them in New England. He has the reputation of a much friendlier personality.
"I think you'll certainly see me bring a little bit of a different vibe. I can smile," McDaniels said.
Just using the word vibe is a different vibe. But fantasy leaguers, players, and Broncos fans ultimately don't care about his pressers. They want production. I have no doubt McDaniels can come up with creative weekly game-plans and maximize Denver's awesome talent: Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, and Ryan Clady.
Like Mike Shanahan, McDaniels is a ruthless play-caller. And he is going to call the plays in Denver, not young upstart Jeremy Bates, who may be on his way out.
McDaniels isn't going to worry about balance. If they need to throw the ball 40 times to win, they will, and that is a realistic option with this defense. Mike Shanahan usually didn't call that many passes because of Denver's strong running game, but that all changed in 2008. Jay Cutler finished second in pass attempts behind Drew Brees, and I bet he finishes near the top again next year. McDaniels' Patriots favored a committee approach in the backfield and the lack of ta
Chad Jackson, who will probably have the honor of being cut by McDaniels in two different cities, is sure that McDaniels will get the ball to Brandon Marshall plenty. And if Chad says it, it must be true. McDaniels is great at getting the ball to Wes Welker in space and having the rest of the wideouts and linemen block for him. That could work very well with Denver's offensive line. Eddie Royal and Marshall are both versatile players who will be fun for McDaniels to call play for.
You can question whether Mike Nolan is that great a hire as defensive coordinator, but the move to a flexible 3-4 defense is a plus. You can question how McDaniels will handle all the executive and political responsibilities that come with being a head coach. You can question how the personnel department is set up in Denver. What I don't question is McDaniels' cutting edge offensive mind.
Jay Cutler owners had to be disappointed when Mike Shanahan was replaced, but this hire makes up for it. I don't know if the Broncos will win the next few seasons, but I'm very confident they will score a ton.

...lent in Denver's backfield should make it easy for McDaniels to have a similar RBBC philosophy, while building the offense around Cutler and the aerial attack.

I think you are thinking like sukrat, but I think you should cover the other side of the topic in the post too...
