Roy Williams can stiff delivery men in Dallas now

Our blurb on the Roy Williams deal is listed below. I'd write more here, but I need to get the Season Pass rankings up. Basically, this move adds another pair of hands to an overcrowded Dallas receiver group. Romo, Brad Johnson, and Calvin Johnson are winners. Megatron has less competition for targets. The Dallas Quarterbacks have more weapons.
Williams' value probably doesn't move. He gets a better quarterback in a month, but now may be the fourth option in his offense. That tradeoff is a wash. Dallas is asking for a T.Opisode in the next few years. It's hard to see him co-existing well with a similar receiver. Jerry Jones also just handed Williams' agent a ton of leverage because he'd look silly if Williams doesn't re-sign with the team now. Williams' contract expires at the end of the year.
The rest of the impact is after the jump. Let me know if you agree with my take.
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys have acquired Roy Williams from the Lions for a first, third, and sixth-round draft pick.
Because the one thing they are missing is a diva wide receiver with an expiring contract. That is a huge bounty for Detroit, especially when no one else wanted Williams. The move smacks of desperation on the heels of an ugly weekend in Dallas, but Williams helps Brad Johnson's chances for short-term success. Still, there are only so many targets to go around. Williams is going to be the fourth option (behind Owens, Witten, and Barber) in a loaded offense and will remain inconsistent. His fantasy stock does goes up for the stretch run once Tony Romo returns. Patrick Crayton takes the biggest hit on the team, but T.O. and Jason Witten will also lose some targets.

Can all the Cowboys apologists and Cowboys haters quit bickering so we can get back to discussing the FANTASY impact of this trade? Eric's question is a good one. Discuss amongst yourselves...

R. Williams is repped by Ben Dogra- the same agent who reps the other R. Williams, T. Newman. His agency also reps Romo, Gurode, etc. Leverage? Yes...but I have a feeling the cowboys know where they stand in getting a deal done.

not sure about the desperation comment. how is it desperate to trade for a Roy Williams who has many good years ahead? what nfl team can't use this kind of talent? so it doesn't "smack" of anything but a tremendous plus at WR. Sometimes you are a little silly.

I think one angle people arent looking at is how this will appease TO.
The reason TO isnt getting as many balls is because hes being covered greatly.
Roy Williams depends more attention than any other Dallas WR will and as such will help free up TO to get the pigskin.

Stupid
like dallas's problem was a lack of targets to throw to?
their problem is a lack of drive and will, which only marion barber seems to have (on offense at least)
