A Fantasy legend sneaks back

Life in the NFL changes fast. The 2005 NFL MVP, Shaun Alexander, finally got a job again Tuesday and the news cycle barely took notice as the Cowboys soap opera took center stage. The lack of attention was appropriate. There will be temptation by owners to pick up Alexander because of his name, but he's just another mid-season signing.
Redskins head coach Jim Zorn indicated that Rock Cartwright would initially be Clinton Portis' backup as Alexander got back into football shape. By the time Alexander is ready to be the backup, Ladell Betts will return to take over. And Zorn seemed to make it clear it's Betts' job regardless:
"We're not going to put some sort of limitation on where we're at in four weeks, two weeks, however long it takes Ladell to get back. But [Alexander] knows the situation he's coming into."
Fantasy owners should know too.

Jump on the Alexander bandwagon NOW! Once Portis, Betts and Cartright go down with injury, Alexander is gonna be gold. Fantasy RB's get better with age, just like wine. You heard it here first.
