The Post-Brady era begins

Not just for the Patriots, but for his fantasy owners. I looked at how Brady's injury changed Sunday's game, the season, Brady's career, and the NFL this year in the Daily Dose. In Boston, they asking who matters more: Brady or Belichick?
I'm as loyal a Belichickian as they come, but the results of the poll I linked to surprised. Belichick and the rest of a strong roster can keep the team afloat, sure. But I think even the head coach would agree the team would have a better chance at a title, at least for this season, with the quarterback instead of the one pulling the strings.

Wow, between Brady's injury and LT's, first rounders are dropping like flies!

"If you are a true football fan, Tom Brady's injury was tough to swallow."
so you're going to tow that line as well eh greg? here's a news flash...we all know the patriots were amazing w/ brady...but now we actually get to see what they can do w/o him (which probably means still win the DIV). here's a tip...new england isnt the only team in the nfl and tons of true football fans don't give a rip who's on the field as long as the games are competitive and interesting.
just don't make us swallow the bs that somehow this season is worse because one guy got hurt.

He means that the quality of football being played will go down, and that a true football fan would want to see the best athletes on the field. Gregg, and the rest of us, are well aware that there are 31 other teams and that this will create opportunity for the Jets and Bills to rise up, but it is at the cost of a great athlete.

Point taken Matt. And you can be assured I do not live in New England, nor do I give a flip about the Patriots.
On the other hand, I don't enjoy seeing any athlete go down with a season ending (possibly career threatening) injury. And certainly not a sure fire, first ballot Hall of Famer.
I don't think your shot at Gregg's perceived bias is fair or warranted. And at the very least I know you don't speak for everyone.

A close game is usually more fun to watch than a blowout where the starters are still in to pad their stats. If it gets to be a blowout its more interesting to see something like Kolb playing yesterday than to see McNabb and Westbrook stay in and risk injury just to run up the score.

I'm not a Pat fan, but you have to admire the excellence and precision in what they do, especially on offense. Until they went up against my favorite team, I was intrigued by their pursuit of perfection last year. How many times can you witness sports history in the making? I don't think the comment had anything to do with bias - whether you love or hate Brady or the Pats, the greatness must be acknowledged. The Giant win last year was special because they had to beat the best.

Wow, I guess maybe Bill should have let Cassel play a little during the Patriot's "run up the score tour 2007" huh? Now he will remind us what a "genuis" (a$$ outside of New England area) he is all year as the Pats win some games with the running game. Remember Bill worshipers, Patton eventually got fired........
