The injury no one talks about

A first-round fantasy pick missed the offseason because of a contract dispute. He hasn't practiced for nearly all of training camp, and it looks quite possible he won't play in the preseason. And yet, absolutely no one has batted an eye. The question becomes: Why aren't we more worried about Ryan Grant?

Because he came out of nowhere last season, Grant was the top-15 pick I felt least comfortable with. But I like the system in Green Bay, and I love the lack of true competition for carries. There is no doubt Grant is explosive. In a diluted year for backs, he just made the elite cut. This hamstring injury has lasted long enough for it to be a concern. I projected a huge gap after Grant originally to my RB11 (MJD), but that gap is closing. If I had a pick on the first round turn this weekend, I could now see passing on Grant for a wide receiver.

My 2cents is that grant was in the right place at the right time. This year a whole nother ball game. I stay away until he plays a full season. I take bush before him....bush couple of receptions per game plus 15 or so carries...so punt or kick returns, He'll score plenty. He in his third year and i think he'll do well...better than grant. I think we'll see brandon jackson by week five. Those first couple games are gonna kill grant. And i love the situation farve is in...two really good tight ends with good hands...two good recievers in cotchery and cole...plus the third guy is a old packer cast away who has looked good in preseason.....the front line has what four first round draft picks up there?? He'll do better than most qb's.....maybe about tenth or so. I am just not sold on grant and the line is week in greenbay and the qb has more question marks than the line. I'll play it safe and just stay away. I am buying into this wr1 picks over some of these rb's.....there are just not enough solid wide recievers out there. I see some good running backs there in later rounds...forte? kevin smith in detroit the speedy kid in tenn. those names are available in the later rounds while all thats left at reciever in jerry porter and javon walker...LOL
my 2cents...take it for what is worth...2cents

Greg make sure you do another thing on grant at mid season. Just so i can say i told you so to these guys. If i am wrong they can all bash me it might be fun. Good luck with bush yikes. But atleast you have your own opinion without insults. I respect that.

I wish some of the respondents would stick to the subject, "Ryan Grant" not Buffalo, Farve VS Montana ect. and who cares about the team you drafted. I have Grantm, MJD, E. Grahm and J. Fargus in a $200 Salary Cap league, similar to auction but you keep everyone if their values are low enought to fit under your Salary Cap. I am over by the auction value of E. Grahm,($19) which means I must also get rid him and of say L. Evens or R. White to get cash to replace Grahm and the wideout. If I get rid of Grant ($42)I have a lot of cash to go after Stewart and C Johnson or Mendenhall ect. and keep my back up wideouts to fill in for T.O and R. Smith. ie I can built more depth. So when grant got stuffed by the Giants in the NFC championship game I am more than concerned about Grant with basically a rookie at QB for Green Bay. And 8 in the box is a real possibility as preseason is just that and Rogers has not faced a lot of blitz packages. He tends to hold the ball too long and when G. Bay is faced with third and long a lot, Grant will not be a factor.

Have you guys been watching the games. Rodgers has been good. That is also with out grant there to take pressure off of him. The giants had a really good defense last year also they won the superbowl because of it against possibly the best team of all time. You guys are always looking for busts. grant will not be a bust and will eclipse his last year stats. Graham will be a bust. Simply because he has dunn to take away carries and caddillac could be back. The zone blocking scheme had alot to do with the success of grant. I think you should be looking elsewhere for busts. Like Larry Johnson ever sense he lost the offensive line men he has been bad. Graham 1 year wonder. Mcgahee knee and ray the back up going silly. Kevin smith I watched that game with the lions he got botteled up until the second team defense was in there even though i will give him props on that nice run even if it was the second team defense. Maroney definetly he will lose goal lines that will kill ya. These guy are being drafted to high.

JACOB,
Lol, dude ur team is a hit away from garbage. Chad's hurt "ouch my shoulder" holt is 40 years old, grant "ouch my hammy" AP, "ouch my knee" bironas" ouch my hammy" I could go on but i think u gat the point. You hav big names but names dont win championships! But hey good job with blowin the 2nd pick

I have big names and big projections. Jeff King What wins championships man guys with out big names maybe I should of drafted warrick dunn first. You make absoulutely no sense what so ever. Holt has posted 7 straight 1100 yards season and atleast 7tds. Chad johson has been mr. consistent and contract year his injury only takes 4 weeks so even if he misses 1 game he was worth it. He was the number 3 reciever in points if you look. Adrian peterson even if he misses a couple games with a knee will have top 5 stats. Anybody else want to be punked out. Please back it up with more than he will get hurt and big names. Everyone has a chance of getting hurt every week and when you draft yes you want big names why that means big production. All the guys you are making fun of are big production and the only thing you can bash them on is they will get hurt. If you are going to bash someone you need more than that king or should I call you queen after that last weak shot.

Guys, let's not get personal here and try to keep the punking out to a minimum.
