Could Steve Smith get dealt?

Steve Smith's problems with the Panthers organization may run deeper than his recent fight with Ken Lucas. At least that's what Matt Mosley of ESPN indicates in his blog. Mosley says there are "rumblings" that the Panthers could consider dealing Smith, and that Smith's name has already come up in conversations with Dallas.
Let's be real here: The odds on a trade at this point, especially with John Fox and GM Marty Hurney on the hot seat, seem slim to none. The Panthers offense can barely afford to lose their best player for two games, much less the season. Still, it's a story worth tracking because Smith's two game suspension would likely be lifted in a new locale.
I will write about the situation more, but the punishment didn't wind up hurting Smith that much in our updated projections. Steve Smith + two games of a receiver off your bench still equals top-ten production. Don't let him slip out of the third round.

smith is so overrated. somebody needs to stomp that S.O.B. in the ground. he's not a top ten wr. hell, marshall will end scoring more ff points (while missing the same number of games). there's easily 10 wrs that are better than him.

Smith is a top 10 WR period.

I wouldn't exactly call 6 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons 'wittle bitty production.' He's by far one of the best WR's in the league, worthy of being taken in the top ten DESPITE missing the first two games. Just make sure you have a backup, and you're good to go.
He played with 4 different QB's, and he still managed another 1000 yard season. I don't see any of the big backs doing shit without their QB's. Hell, with Randy Moss's ego he might have a heart attack and demand a trade AGAIN.

bottom line, this is not new behavior for this guy. nobody is guaranteed a healthy qb. there are much better options available at wr. I listed them already. the guys an overated punk. and 1000 yds isn't a bragging point, its like 63 yards a game. MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE, PUNCH MIGHTY MOUSE IN THE FACE
