Kevin Smith runs tall; That's not a good thing
Like a lot of fantasy players, I iirationally like rookie running backs, especially if they are likely to start. But it's hard to wrap my arms around Kevin Smith of the Lions. His lack of competition and experience in zome schemes are plusses, but there are so many negatives.
1. The Lions offensive line
2. His lack of competition at Central Florida
3. 450 carries last season! 450. 450. 450. 450.
If that didn't make you worried about his durability this season, now we have to worry about this: Smith's upright running style. Smith must have got popped at the first contact practice of Lions camp:
"You've got to get low. It's not only recommended, but it's demanded. Yeah, and I do run upright. It's probably going to take a couple more times for me to get knocked on my butt to fix it."
Chris Brown, anyone?

Adrian Peterson, Eric Dickerson, Eddie George and others all had an upright running style ... so that doesnt concern me near as much as the fact he plays for the Detroit Freakin' Lions!!

I think teams should start demanding money back if players do not reach certain levels of performance. These players hold out because they played well for 5-6 games the year before and now they want LT or TO money. Come on!

It's just another Det RB not named Barry Sanders. Sure that is a generalization. Just because he is unknown by NFL standards and a possible starting RB doesn't make him good. Everyone wants to be the guy to grab the next big rookie RB but this guy is not it.

I don't think it matters that much. You have great backs that have ran high and low. Injuries happen to running backs regardless of running style. Usualy when the RB gets hurts is from the hit he don't see coming. If you see the defender you can absorb the impact. Thats one reason why vision is so important.
