Ronnie Brown vs. Brandon Jacobs

Finishing off another magazine. Unless big news happened, I try not to adjust my projections too much. Often, we can overthink things and tweak too much based on minor news.
One player that got a slight tweak downwards was Ronnie Brown. I thought the carry split between him and the other Miami backs was too uneven. The minor downgrade left him tied for RB14 with Brandon Jacobs. But I'm not a huge fan of ties, and want to make a choice. I know how I'm leaning, but what say you Pancake Blockers?

One more thing I'd like to point out about Ricky. The injury to Ricky was a fluke. I know because I watched it happen. It was during the Pittsburgh game, after being tackled Ricky was in a push-up position attempting to stand up and Pittsburghs LB stomped on the back of Ricky's shoulder blade. It was a cheap shot that I was shocked no one made a big deal about.
Its a what have you done for me lately world. How soon do we forget how great Ricky was, with his power and speed combo. Ricky is older but he did have a vacation relaxing his mind and body. Ok mostly his mind.
Make no mistake about it Tuna/Sparono will not care about Ricky's past but only how much they can squeeze out of him now. Tuna/Sparono like the working mans attitude Ricky has been displaying. They will run Ricky like a dog early giving Brown time to recover fully.

Brown - not even close. EVen in a 70-30 split with Ricky -Jacobs stands to be in the sane sort of split with Bradshaw - plus Brown still should catch 60 balls - and Brown seems to be VERY much healthy. This is really a joke - and not even close. Brown by a landslide- and actually Greg you have him ranked too low at #14 - he is more like a #10. People being scared by Ricky's prescence will be sorry.

I'm not generally a piggy-back poster, but I agree with scott - Jacobs hasn't proven he can stay healthy for more than 3-4 games at a time - prior to his torn ACL, Brown was a workhorse. The best RB in the league, if I remember correctly, prior to injury.
And suddenly this doesn't matter because the Giants won the SB and Brown torn his ACL. Jacobs was 60-40 good-bad all season. He is not an every-down back. His pass protection sucks. He does not catch passes. Brown did EVERYTHING, and was slaughtering every other RB in FF terms prior to tearing his ACL (a "fluky" injury, as someone else said of Ricky's).
I think Parcells and Sparano being high on Ricky's work ethic just means he's going to make the team, not that he's going to be a freaking centerpiece of the offense or anything.
Brown by a landslide.

I have three letters for you "ACL" Anterior Cruciate Ligament. A player needs a good year to come back from this injury. Brown tore his ACL in week 7. I would agree with 100% if it were not for the injury.
Let me ask you this. Why would Parcells want Brown to hurry back for week one? Miami is rebuilding, Parcells knows he's not going to the playoffs so why risk Brown to further injury. Parcells knows Brown is a workhorse back and a good one. Parcells will bring him along slowly and give the ball to Ricky early and get Brown more touches towards the end of the season. This way Brown will be in a good rythm and mindset for 2009 season.
I don't think it will be a huge margin, but I do believe it will be in Ricky's favor.
Remember I said it, Ricky has more touches week one than Ronnie.
I like Jacobs early and Brown later in the season.

I love Jacobs this year. I feel like Eli is going to make some strides which is going to open things up for jacobs, at least more than Miami's QB will do for Brown. Plus he is the clear #1 in New York
