Ronnie Brown vs. Brandon Jacobs

Finishing off another magazine. Unless big news happened, I try not to adjust my projections too much. Often, we can overthink things and tweak too much based on minor news.
One player that got a slight tweak downwards was Ronnie Brown. I thought the carry split between him and the other Miami backs was too uneven. The minor downgrade left him tied for RB14 with Brandon Jacobs. But I'm not a huge fan of ties, and want to make a choice. I know how I'm leaning, but what say you Pancake Blockers?

I have to say that I've always been a huge Jacobs fan and drafted him in most of my keeper leagues. I'm now trying to trade him. I would rather have Brown in both formats. Jacobs probably has more value early in the season (before he has taken too many hits and is still healthy), but come playoff time I'll take Ronnie. Does anyone really think Ricky W. will stay healthy and out of the commish's office? I'm thinking Ronnie will be healthy when it matters and who knows where Ricky will be? That guy had four carries and tore his pec muscle last year!
Ronnie was dominant before his injury.
Jacobs is always hurt with some injury and that problem should only get worse as he gets older and take more of a pounding.
I don't know about everyone else, but I had an uneasy feeling during the playoffs about Jacobs when I saw Bradshaw playing in key situations and in the fourth quarter. It appeared to me the coaching staff began to trust Bradshaw more than Jacobs which says a lot to me during the playoffs and Super Bowl. It sure looked to me that Bradshaw may in fact be the best back on that team. When Bradshaw was drafted - the talking heads said he was too small, but he sure looks built similar to MJD to me.
I'm also having trouble buying into the carry split people are touting out here. Again, during the playoffs, when you should be leaning heavily on your best back - the split was actually Jacobs: 56%, Bradshaw: 44% - that sure looks like a committee to me!
Ronnie in both formats for me!

Jacobs is the better pick. Brown won't be 100% until 2009 at the earliest, and reports on Sir Weed A-Lot are surprisingly positive.
I'm avoiding Brown like the plague in yearly leagues.

Why are we still talking about Ricky Williams? He hasn't logged significant carries in several years. He came back last year and lasted two carries before he got injured. Why does anyone believe that he will be able to handle even 1/3 of the carries?

Tough to take a comment serious from Tony B (The first guy that commented). Booker isn't even with Miami any more... Try Philly... Stick to commenting on who won your grandma's bingo tourney last night.

Lol.
Oh, Kevin. Now that that's out of your system, why don't you comment on the topic being discussed.

Jacobs. People need to keep in mind that it usually takes about two years for a RB to bounce back from an ACL injury.

For me it's all about the positives and negatives and both Brown and Jocabs have a lot of negatives. Everyone says Brown is in a commitee, ok so is Jacobs he has Ward and Bradshaw taking carries away. Jacobs is a huge RB so why only 4 TDs? I'm a little worried that when Jacobs became an every down back his TDs fell. 2005 38 ATT 7 TDs, 2006 96 ATT 9 TDs, 2007 202 ATT 4 TDs. Super Bowl champs tend to have a lag the next year so that works against Jacobs as well.
Brown can't stay healthy either, and is in a commitee. Tuna/Sparano will run, run, and run some more not only because it's their style but they have to think about taking the preasure off their young QB. This year Brown could benefit from his RB commitee due to his ACL. The workload Ricky gets will be a benefit to Brown giving him more time to recover fully. I expect the big story out of Miami week one is Ricky gets more touches(remember I said it first). Browns RBBC doesn't bother me as much as the ACL. Nobody plays good after a ACL surgery. I would stay clear from both, but we have a tie and need a tie breaker. It would have to be Jacobs ahead of Brown only because of the ACL.
