LaMont lives again

A few readers have asked if LaMont Jordan was draftable now that he's in New England. As our latest Top 200 says, the answer is yes.
Since my brain is about to fall off, here is a list of thoughts on the Jordan signing.
1. It doesn't help Laurence Maroney's value, but it doesn't hurt it much. Maroney will have every chance to have a great season, even if he doesn't top 250 carries. It's up to Maroney to play well and stay healthy. He must improve on passing downs. Production will follow if that happens.
2. Jordan crushes Sammy Morris' value. Jordan is versatile, smart, and excels on receiving and power rushing situations. They have similar skills, but Jordan has more talent. He's also a better pass catcher. New England's system made Morris look better than he has ever looked, and it can do the same for Jordan.
3. I think the Patriots will keep all four of their running backs, plus Heath Evans. They may only keep two tight ends. That hurts Jordan's chances of being a true difference maker because Kevin Faulk and Morris will still be in the mix. There are only so many carries to go around, even if Maroney got hurt. Jordan isn't even ranked as high as Morris used to be. I project Jordan as a 12th-round draft pick. That could be conservative, but his role is hardly guaranteed. It will rise if he clearly gets ahead of Morris.

Big news on Chris Henry. It seems he could be very useful by midseason again. Maybe takes Crayton's spot on the Cowboys??

that would be the best fit for him, and i dont think jerry jones cares about his off-field stuff.

Would love to get some updated stat projections on Maroney, Jordan, Faulk and Morris. As a dedicated reader to your bloggie, any help Gregg?

What a shame. Maroney could be a stud first round pick if he was used the correct way. That dude is smooth. The Pats dont like any one player to be a star outside of Brady. Maroney would be a star on another team. What a shame.
Hey Gregg, going to buy the on-line draft guide today. The Maddog is going to rule FF this year.

i think maroney is gonna be another bust this year... if thats possible since he was already a bust last year. the playoff run cant save his fantasy value

I see Jordan being used much as Corey Dillon was. Not terribly useful in PPR leagues, but he'll probably be the goal line guy if Brady decides not to toss it for some reason.

Maroney = Can't catch, doesn't get the goal line carries = bust year in , year out. STAY AWAY from Mr Maroney.
