Deuce is practicing

I have spent much of the off-season doubting one of my favorite players of the decade, Deuce McAllister. Players his age just don't come back from a second torn ACL plus a microfracture surgery in the same offseason. So it's only fair to note Thursday that McAllister was on the field for the start of training camp. As best we can tell, he's practicing without restrictions. It's uncertain. however, if there was contact in the drills.
McAllister reportedly weighs ten pounds less than he did when returning from injury two years ago. He still has a long way to go, and I remain skeptical, but it sounds like he's off to a great start. The Saints will give him every chance possible to make the team.

Gregg,
If Brandon Marshall faces a significant suspension how would that affect Cutler's value this year??? Based on RotoWorld's recommendation I planned on targeting Cutler in every draft.

Ok, Gregg...
Name me one back who's come back from microfracture surgury at ANY age to be productive. I can't think of one. Stephen Davis, another big back (sort of like Deuce), gave it a try around age 30 and ended up sitting most of the season immediately after with knee swelling and other various problems, no? I think he rounded out his career on the bench behind Jackson in St. Louis.
Deuce has earned a shot at returning, but until he makes it through about 3 regular season games without problems, its time for a reality check. That the Saints will 'give him every opportunity' to make the roster implies they know he is in jeopardy and are not necessarily going to keep him around long enough to see if he can work back into form. That should tell you all you need to know.

I agree Chad and that's why I'm not changing my projection for Deuce yet. But he's worth watching.
As for Cutler, we'll address that when it happens but obviously it hurts Cutler's projection some. big diff between 4-8 games missing from Marshall. Four wouldn't be a killer.
