Is Brandon Jackson a problem for Grant?

Is Brandon Jackson's non-stop positive press becoming a problem for Ryan Grant or is this just a way for the Packers to pressure Grant into coming to camp? Let me know what you think; I'll be back a little bit before the chat.

It shouldn't be a problem and he shouldn't get antsy and make the same mistake Earnest Graham did. After all, he clearly won the job last year. If it was some new guy they were talking about maybe worry but not a guy you've already beaten out of a job.

Im kind of torn on this one. I own then both in seperate leagues both acquired at good value. I still think that once GNB gets beyond this whole Favre fiasco they will focus the attn on Grant...I hope to see this done b4 the 1st preseason game but that might be wishful thinking. Am in a 12 team ppr draft right now and got Grant at the 3.01. I think if he signs he goes back to a high 2nd round slot (2.02 - 2.06?)
...As far as Jackson, if you own Grnat, its now a mandate to handcuff...question is when...Same format got Jackson in an early draft in the 15th...no way that happens now....thinking somwhere btwn 11-12 round...
any feedback...

I believe Jackson could very well be the starter by midseason. He has more natural ability than Grant does.
Grant must not have outplayed all the RBs all that much in practices because it took everyone else getting injured for him to start.

how do u explain grant dominating during the season when he did take over last year?? jackson was trash, and the fact that he was hyped up so much (again this year) didnt help him in the eye of fantasy owners. he fell flat last year when the games mattered, and i expect much of the same this year. to me, grant looks like a solid 3rd rounder at this point. id see him getting him money soon, and yes, the jackson swooning to continue during the preseason. come week 1, 2 and 3, he will just be another ladell betts.

Not exactly J... Grant wasn't even acquired until just before the start of the regular season.
By that time training camp was over and he still had to learn the offense.
There was no way he could have jumped ahead of Jackson, Wynn and Morency right away.

I think this is more Jackson threat than GB negotiating ploy. 60/40% split. A great O line can make a lot of RBs look good. Think NYG Reuben Droughns 2007. He had four games with 10+ carries and averaged 3.5 yards per carry and 1 TD per 17 carries. I'd say GB would prefer to have Grant but their front office is a little bit testy right now. I'd say that Favre's waffling will cost Grant $. Jackson could really luck himself into a big role if Grant sits out for another month.

At this moment, the Packers have a bigger financial commitment to Jackson, who they liked well enough to pick in the 2nd round a year ago. I think they're seeing what they've got in Jackson, with a little experience under his belt, before caving in to Grant. Besides, while they didn't acquire Grant until just before the season, it did take Wynn and Jackson both getting hurt to open up the opportunity for Grant, didn't it? And Wynn was doing pretty well before his injury.
As it stands, Grant has ~7 games on his resume and he did this while teams were playing against Brett Favre, not Ryan Grant. For a guy with limited job security, a former high-pick to compete with, and only a partial year starting, I think its a risky move on Grant's part to take such a hard line. If RBBC shows anything its that unless you're one of 6 or 8 elite backs, you can be replaced by another warm body... in this case that guy happens to be Brandon Jackson.
