Aaron Rodgers doesn't need you

Aaron Rodgers may lead the league in offseason features, and he's probably tired of "Taking over for Brett Favre" angle already. I know I am. Interviewed for a SI article this week on other players that took over for legends, Rodgers was quoted saying:
"I don’t feel I need to sell myself to the fans. They need to get on board now or keep their mouths shut.”
Rodgers' candor is one of the things I like about him. He seems a bit prickly, ready to take on anything. Still, you could see this getting him in hot water if the Packers hit any rough patches this year.
Rodgers continues to be one of my favorite value picks at quarterback. He is set up very well for success, should throw tons of passes, and is getting drafted as a cheap QB2. I'd rather have Matt Schaub or Vince Young as a QB2, but Rodgers would be next on my list.

I think Rodgers can be a #1 this year, here's a list of my reasons.
1. a good o-line and run game to take pressure off of him.
2. WRs that can gain large amounts of yards after the catch.
3. it's not like he is a clueless rookie, he's been in the league a few years and knows what it takes to compete in the NFL.
4. Looked better than Favre in the Dallas game last year. Brett was chucking the ball down the field every time and seemed like he was trying to win the "Big Game" by himself, which led the offense to go nowhere. Rodges took what the D gave him and trusted his teammates to make plays.
This should allow the GB studs from last year to have good seasons this year as well. I actually think Driver is a little undervalue this year. I think he'll get the same yardage totals but be able to steal a few more TDs from Jennings this year.
The only negative I can understand is the injury bug. It's hit him a few times. But, well worth the 10th round pick considering the upside.

He's definitely worth starting in a 12+ team league.
After the top six, maybe seven guys are off the board he's got as much upside as anyone.
A good RB & WR's who are great with YAC is huge for a young QB.

Did you really say you'd rather have Vince Young?? Really!!? You lost me on that one man.

I look for Rogers to have the same type of year that Romo had, but maybe with a little more success. Remember, he'll be the man going into training camp.
Young QB's who sit on the sidelines and learn for 2-3 years are more apt to have success than those thrust right into action.
Look at Romo... Tools-wise, he's just another guy. But he ran scout teams, held the clipboard, and studied defensive game film for 2-3 years. That learning time was priceless, and the man wasn't as gun shy when they finally played him.
