This Year's Welker

In one of the articles of our second magazine, Mark St. Amant has an interview with Wes Welker and talks about his man-crush on the Patriots receiver. We are including a breakout box of candidates to be "This year's Welker." That would be a receiver who emerges from the WR4/5/6 swampland to catch a whole lot of passes. (Extra points if he does it from the slot).
I have a quick list of candidates, but don't want it to just look like a repeat of my sleeper list. That's where you guys come in. Put on your tout hat and give me a player or two you think could be this year's Welker.

Well, considering the Chargers are about to let Eric Parker go, I hope like hell it's Craig "Buster" Davis.
Although it could be Parker himself if he lands with the Browns.

i think Burleson and Bryant Johnson have solid chances, but i feel like Curtis has reached his highest potential. the coaching staff have soured on him some and finally believe hes just a fast slot guy. Meachem is too much of a reach at this point, unless he can go from 0-60 in one offseason. not likely.

Arnaz Battle San Francisco.
Mike Martz loves getting his slot receivers the ball.

I'll go with the guys that have mentioned Bobby Engram already.
In a ppr league someone could do alot worse that Engram as a #3 WR.
With questions around Branch's health, Burleson's consistency he should see alot of passes. Plus, Hasselbeck trusts him which is huge.

This is a huge reach, but if jurevicious can't stay healthy this year I can see the browns trying to get Josh cribbs more involved in the offense.

Yea, after posting that, I looked to see where Kevin Curtis was ranked. Whoops! And looking at the guys above and below him, it makes sense, he's a solid 3.
I'll change my vote to Arnaz Battle.
