Opening the floor

Lifting a page straight out of Aaron Gleeman's playbook, I'm going to open up the floor for questions to be answered later this week. I'll answer mostly football questions, but any inquiry is welcomed. And yeah, this is the type of original thinking that happens on a 100-degree day in New York, with my air conditioner feebly trying to keep up.

On a completely other note, some readers have asked us for copies of the study that ranked us first among the top-15 fantasy sites in 2007 projections. FFLibrarian posted about it on Sunday, and you can download her results. We finished first in the top 100 rankings and the combined score of the position ranks. (Including first at RB, WR). This is an impossibly high standard we can't keep up, but I'm proud that 2007 was such a great year.

who do you like emerging to start opposite of Randy Moss in NE? you seem down on Gaffney, but is Jackson really the answer? I haven't seen him play. If Jackson's not who could be?

Here's my question that desperately needs a wide forum like Rotoworld to address:

Why is "Third Round Reverse" not the standard format for draft leagues?

In fantasy football, having the number one pick doesn't guarantee victory, but it is a very nice advantage.

If you got to choose your draft position, almost everyone would choose #1 or close to it, secure with the knowledge that in addition to the top pick, you are also getting two others within the top 25 (in a 12 team league).

However, with "Third Round Reverse", it evens things out somewhat. Sure you get that first overall pick, but then your third pick is #36 instead of #25. Big difference when you've already got the #1 overall player on your team.

In fact, in a third round reverse league, you'd have a much harder decision about where to pick if you could choose your draft position. You might still choose to go first, but you'd certainly have to think carefully about it (especially in a year when the talent seems fairly even at the top few picks).

So my question is why haven't the experts like yourself promoted the Third Round Reverse format as a way to even things out and make leagues more competitive?

Hey Gregg

I was wondering what you would suggest as far as keepers are concerned this year. I have LT, Larry Fitzgeral, Braylon Edwards, Ryan Grant, and Willie Parker to debate for my 3 keepers. I was wondering if it was better to keep The two top tier wrs and LT or if i should risk keeping only one reciever and hoping grant can keep up his production or wilie can bounce back from his injury. Or should I keep all 3 running backs considering there are so few backs that will get at least 20 carries a again like willie and grant should?
