Skinny Posts: Vikings prepare to be trendy pick

  • Uh oh, Vikings fans: Dr. Z picked your team to win the Super Bowl.

  • Do the Redskins have the personnel for a West Coast Offense? Mike Lombardi doesn't think so. I agree: They are a huge mystery going into this season.

  • A nice roster breakdown of the Packers heading into camp.

  • Year-by-year starting lineups for teams from profootballreference.com. Very cool.

  • Perhaps Chris Perry's role isn't as safe as we thought. (Although the Dayton Daily News has had a few swings and misses lately. )

Skins will do at least as well as last year despite the change in system. Their QB isn't draftable but Portis, Moss and Cooley should be fine. I'll take Portis as a RB1 with a Betts backup.

Lombardi fails to mention the most obvious position the skins will struggle with. Jason Cambell running his third offense in three years is the key to whole thing. I think the skins struggle here more than anything. Portis can play, and I have seen him stick his nose in on protection plenty. Moss may actually be better and more consistent in this offense. If Cambell plays well and gets it early the skins will be fine.

This year more than ever I'm getting turned off by the players (seemslike a lot of WR's) that are demanding more money while their either already under contract or have diminishing skills. The real world is full of a lot of people losing their jobs and having a hard time making ends meet as prices of everything go higher + higher (probably due to gas $).

Making cut backs to make ends meet will be things like going to a game + buying $8 beers, $5 hot dogs etc, etc.

And I'm afraid to have to say it, but getting rid of the NFL Sunday ticket at a ridiculous rate of $289.00 for 17 afternoons worth of prgramming seems like it has to happen.

Directv claims the NFL charges them so much, hence the cost to us.

Shame on all involved that make this happen, right down to the players demanding more money to play worse, especially when they know they have lost a step.

So who do I route for to make the super bowl: the teams my local channels will be showing, and to my luck it's the same two teams that were there last year.

But for people that live in Buffalo, Miami, etc, etc, I feel for ya.

    Harb,
One posting of the sour grapes would've been sufficient. I'll keep watching and not b****ng about cost. Welcome to capitalism and the free market. You better give up movies and TV, too altogether 'cuz everybody on there is makin' bank. Better quiz Gregg about his salary before you read his blog. ;) He has great perks gettin an expense paid trip to the Bowl!
