More Mock Review: Eli gets no love

Here’s a look at where some of the backup quarterbacks fell in the final six rounds of the Mock Draft I wrote about last week. The wideout fliers got a lot of comments, let's try to keep these to football as best we can.

10.05. Eli Manning: Industry veterans not buying the playoff maturation. If nothing else, he’s a safe pick this late.
12.02. Aaron Rodgers: And here comes to the QB2 run. Just love the value here.

12.04. Vince Young: While the scoring format (6 pts per passing touchdown) doesn’t help VY, I love this value even more.
12.07. Matt Leinart: Boom or bust pick, but appropriate time to take him.
12.09. Jason Campbell: Could go in a lot of directions, but I still believe.
14.04. Michael Vick: Apparently a petitition will be filed to count prison league stats.
15.12. Jeff Garcia, Bucs: Probably going to be one of the last quarterbacks taken in most drafts.

I'll be eyeballing Aaron Rodgers as a late QB2. He'll be slept on all year and will be awesome value that late in drafts.

I'm not drinking the Eli Kool-Aid and I wouldn't even think about drafting Vince Young even if it was in the 12th round. I'd much rather have Leinart and Campbell ahead of him.

Who in the heck is drafting Michael Vick? Did they just click the "autopick" button or something? Did they also draft WR Chris Henry?

cambell will get better when his young wr's gain experience. hes still a year or so away. lienart would rather be on the cover of GQ than SI. he has no heart. i dont like youngs passing skills at all and i dont see him ever putting up quality fantasy numbers. eli's wr's are aging. that leaves rodgers. great weapons and he looked compitent in the pocket. hes going to be solid IMO.

I wouldn't bank on Leinart so easily. He's got a lot to prove under pressure with Warner breathing down his neck.

Eli probably went 2 rounds late, imo. That said, I think he's a rotational starter at best until he proves otherwise.

Although Eli gained experience post season (albeit all in one year) his SB ring belongs to his defence. Not to say he didn't manage the game decently. He still plays above his head when good and his usually self when bad.

i like young out of all of them. he's ready for the next step with new OC and just having another year in general to learn. He has to be better than last year. receiving corps sux tho.

rodgers should be good enough in that good offense.

eli's next, but i dont trust him.

campbell is too risky under new west coast offense, but worth a late rounder.

leinart is more bust this year. dont know if he'll even play much. maybe next year once warner goes down or retires or something.

Interesting to see those guys bunched so closely together. With the exception of Vick (who I'll avoid commenting on), I'd say they're just about in the right order, though. I would probably bump Young below Leinart and move Garcia above Campbell. I just don't see VY developing as a fantasy quarterback until he has some viable targets. Crumpler helps, but not enough. And Campbell hasn't shown enough for me to draft him, even as a backup. The offense may help him long term but not this season.

Just out of curiosity, was Delhomme drafted? I'd take him over all of those guys.

You know, I'd agree that Leinart is a boom or bust pick but its more of a 85% chance to bust 15% chance to have a decent season pick.

I think everybody would be happier (from a fantasy perspective) if old Kurt was throwing his many TDs and Ints. Guy won my final for me last year haha.

Cambell should probably go ahead of Leinart in drafts this year.
