Tony Scheffler losing footing

When I wrote about a mid-round TE battle last week, I almost included Tony Scheffler in the discussion. He didn't have a catch in the first four weeks of last season, mostly because of a foot injury, but he was a solid TE1 after that. My projections put him right with the three we debated.
only five tight ends outscored Scheffler from Week 5 on and the development of Jay Cutler bodes well for the tight end entering this season. If only the guy could stay healthy. Scheffler re-injured his foot this week, and will be out of practice another month. If the bone has a crack, as the team fears, surgery could be an option.
Chronic foot injuries make me cringe, perhaps more than any other injury. There is still a lot of time before Week 1, but the injury risk could knock Scheffler down a few pegs to a borderline TE1/2.

I never draft a top tier TE and play matchups throughout most of the year. Scheffler was a great mid season plug in play for me last season and it appears he'll be the same this season.
