Smith vs. Colston vs. Marshall

Some of you thought the Jamal Lewis vs. Michael Turner battle wasn't very close. I would argue that many of the same people thought Lewis was overrated as a fifth-round pick last year, but the people have spoken. Today's three-way battle is hopefully more interesting: Steve Smith vs. Marques Colston vs. Brandon Marshall.

This year looks promising for Smith, but he's annually overrated by us fantasy types because he's a great NFL player. He only topped 1,200 yards or eight touchdowns once in his career. Marshall and Colston have already equaled that total and play for better passing teams - especially Colston. There is some projecting here, but let's allow that Marshall is healthy well before most draft days, which is expected. Rank 'em in order if you please.

Agreed, Marshall looks like he can be dominating and soon.
Colston has had some nagging injuries and has few teamates capable of distracting extra attention to him. That may begin to catch up to him.
Smith's QB situation is a risk, he can be injury prone and isn't a big receiver that can go up and get the ball.

1- Marshall
2- Colston
3- Smith

1 - Colston
2 - Smith
3 - Marshall

Colston - Constistantly.

Smith - Good receiver find ways to put up good numbers.

Marshall - Isn't this the guy who slipped on the McD's bag... I think him and Cutler are going to have an average year... Ending with both of them pointing at the other...

This is an easy one. If Delhomme is healthy, it's Smith. Assuming he is:

Smith
Colston
Marshall

Smith hasn't had a complimentary WR opposite him since Moose left and now he not only gets Moose back but Hackett too, and gets Stewart in the backfield. He was on Randy Moss pace last year for 3 weeks before Jake got hurt. Marshall is the superior talent to Colston but gets ranked behind because he's a head case.

I knew smith had fallen last year when I started seeing him on the get active commercials targeted towards kids. "What Moves you!!" I'd put them Colston, Marshall, smith. Just because I feel there is a real chance that smith has matt moore throwing him passes for most of the year.

Providing no injuries through the year:
Smith
Colston
Marshall

But that said, Smith and Delhomme arent the same without each other and thats often the case so Id have to go

Colston
Smith
Marshall

When in doubt, go with the least likely to bust, period.

That makes Colston the easy first choice.
