Possible Draft Day Trades

Yesterday, I wrote an article for NBCSports.com forecasting five trades that would make sense on draft day. Some were admittedly far-fetched, I could really see others happening. Here's the column and here's the quickie list.

1. Bears trade up with Patriots to draft Matt Ryan
2. Saints send second-round pick for Lito Sheppard
3. Eagles pony up for Roy Williams
4. Cowboys acquire Matt Jones for a mid-round pick
5. Jaguars make a splash by acquiring Jason Taylor

Give me some other trades you could see happening in the comments. We'll wrap up the weekly blog content with the Patriots Mock Draft pick in a bit.

I could see some QB needy team (Bears, Ravens) trade next year's first rounder for a late first rounder to take Brohm -- a la Brady Quinn last year

Angelo would never trade up
to #1 for a QB (any QB !)
in a million years. Da
Bears do love Henne though
and may well attempt to
move up into either the
very end of Rd 1 or more
likely, the top of Rd 2
in an attempt to make sure
they get him.

How about this: The Chargers trade their 1st round pick (27) to Carolina for their 2nd round pick (43), 3rd round pick (4, aquired from Jets), and 4th round pick (109).

Carolina needs impact players badly and have plenty of picks while the Chargers need depth badly and OT, CB, safety and possibly even NT which they could address with additional picks.

By the way this trade is based on the new chart devised by Mike Florio at profootballtalk.com.

Sorry, the 3rd round pick was the 4th of that round, 67 overall.

I still do not buy that Derrick Anderson and Brady Quinn will both be on the Browns roster come training camp. So, what about Anderson to Carolina for the 13th pick in the first round? Carloina gets a young up and coming QB with a year of experince and Cleveland gets a shot at Keith Rivers to bolster their LB corps?

I really see the Raiders trading out of the 4 spot. Al Davis just paid a huge rookie deal to JaMarcus and although he's throwing money around like Pacman at a strip club, I can't imagine he'd be happy paying another rookie huge guarenteed money again.

I do agree that the Lions will trade Roy Williams somewhere and I wouldn't be suprised if it was to Dallas.

I think the Pats would love to trade out of 7 but that will only happen if Matt Ryan is still on the board, which if the Falcons don't take him he should be.

I'll also predict that Chad Johnson will be running his mouth on NFL Network and/or ESPN on the morning of the draft.
