Fitzgerald re-signs; will numbers decline?

Larry Fitzgerald finally re-signed with the Cardinals, with the last negotiating point being that he could break the news himself to push traffic to his website. Okay, I made that last part up, although honestly I wouldn't be surprised.
Fitzgerald took some public hits for dragging the negotiations out, but it was the organization's fault and responsibility. They made the contract and they made it highly difficult to meet his contract escalators. He met them - good for him.
It would have been very interesting in fantasy leagues to see Fitzgerald in another uniform, but it probably never had a chance of happening. It would have been hard to find a better situation, but I still expect Fitzgerald's numbers to decline in 2008.
The Cardinals finished second in the NFL in pass attempts last year to the Lions, with their attempts skyrocketing when Kurt Warner was in the lineup. The attempts should decline as Ken Whisenhunt tries to balance the offense under Matt Leinart. Anquan Boldin also only started 11 games, and Fitzgerald's best stretch of the season was with Boldin out. I also question if Leinart can be as efficient as Warner was in 2007.
Fitz should remain one of the safest receiver picks in fantasy leagues, but the odds are that his receptions and yards should decline next year.
