Super Bowl XLII, Fourth Quarter

9:06: Here we go. Second lowest scoring three quarters in NFL history. One possession game, 15 minutes to go. I bet the NFL isn't too happy they are getting such a low scoring game in what should be the highest rated Super Bowl ever.

9:09: Who needs Shockey? Kevin Boss gets the longest play of the game while exposing Rodney Harrison in pass coverage.

9:10: David Tyree, Steve Smith, and Kevin Boss killing the Patriots. Death by secondary depth. I'm going to have to slow my posts here as I prepare my post-game stories.

9:13: Patriots sideline is pretty calm after the Giants touchdown. Not much yelling or screaming. Brady needs a fourth quarter comeback to go undefeated. Who could ask for more?

9:16: Giants fans are very loud. And the game goes by so fast live. Maybe just all these long drives.

9:18: Brady had Moss open for a big play downfield, but missed by a mile. Matt Light simply can't handle Osi Umenyiora. Patriots in big trouble after that punt.

9:23: Let's see if the Giants play it conservative here.

9:25: Eli just missing Plaxico Burress could have turned the game around. Great tackle by Rodney Harrison to stop that drive.

9:28: These are play calls, play executions that define careers. Should be fun.

9:31: Suddenly the Patriots are ripping off chunks of yardage. Changing formations a ton each play. Five wide, then max protect. And it's all working.

9:34: Suddenly Brady has time and finding everyone on crossing routes over the middle. They are picking on whoever is getting covered by a linebacker. Brady has found his rhythm.

9:35: A "Let's Go Pats" chant has erupted at a relatively quiet stadium.

9:36: Brady overthrows Moss wide open in the end zone.

9:40: Randy Moss walks off the field without celebrating after the go-ahead touchdown. Amazing stuff. He juked Webster out of his shoes. The Pats contingent here awakes ... finally. Strange atmosphere. More chills. That one was coming into my side of the field.

(Okay, maybe he celebrated after he got to the sideline)

9:52: Giants on their eighth life. If Eli gets sacked, its fourth and long for the game. Instead, they have first down at the 25-yard line after David Tyree's insane catch. We'll call it Eli's escape. This game started slow, but the finish is going to go down with the best of them.

9:56: This place has gone bananas. A stomach punch to Patriots Nation. Eli's Escape is going to live on forever, unless Brady can pull something off with only 35 seconds left.

10:07: Stunned. Speechless. Two bad things for a writer to be at the end of a game. I'm off to write up my stories and check out a depressing Patriots locker room. With the 19-0 season at stake, hard to argue against that as the great finish in Super Bowl history. Just a great football game. Thanks for joining me for it.

HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH.

Patriots Lose!

Patriots Lose!

Biggest choke-artists of our time. I love it.

Sorry man, but I don't think I could have lived with you for another year if the Pats had won. Great game, Great season! Cya next year.

I'm not one to rub it in, but that ending was almost poetic. The arrogance coming from the Patriots has become overwhelming and the talk of this team being the greatest ever was a bit ludicrous in my opinion. It was clear this team got worse as the season went on instead of better. This game actually reminded me a lot of when the Patriots beat the Rams in the Super Bowl. It was way lower scoring than anticipated and the young upstart QB beat the record breaking veteran. Like I said, poetic.

Its fine that you all talk badly about the Patriots. Haters are always jealous and always talk crap when they are intimidated. And don't try to come back and justify your statements or make me look wrong. I know how much it must hurt to NOT come from a great sports city like Boston. It must hurt so bad! And don't worry...it definitely shows! And all this crap talk, it doesn't hurt us, it just makes all of you look blind and stupid. Here's to the NFL making it "Manning Territory". I think its funny that people across the country are praising a mediocre quarterback instead of appreciating the great ones. At least praise the right Manning brother. Eli is kinda an embarrassment to his legacy.

Thanks very much for sharing this interesting post. I am just starting up my own blog and this has given me inspiration to what I can achieve.

I feel this article is very good……. It’s not only interesting

You have a great posting. I loved reading it very much. Thanks keep up the great work.
